The spiritual whore raise in Norway

The largest Pentecostal Church on Norway and Roman Catholic monks in Oslo work together.

A Roman Catholic monk burn incense over singing Pentecostals.
This picture and story is copied from a Norwegian Catholic blog, dated November 25, 2013:
“And it happens increasingly! Pentecostals sing Catholic prayers in two new premises in Philadelphia in Oslo. At the same time they invite a Catholic priest to pray together with them. Then they host the intimate auditorium filled with singing in Gregorian tone species. This was an unthinkable scenario of only a few years ago, and an expression of willingness to explore prayer as it unfold in its diversity.

We note the same time that the initiatives are not unilateral. St John Catholic parish of Groduddalen arranges in these days of communal church praise and worship where both Pentecostal friends and Lutherans take part.
It is not happening in Norway everyday, that a Catholic Church is filled with percussion, guitars, intercession and laying of hands. Perhaps it is also time that Bishop Bernt Eidsvig participates in the week of prayers for Oslo? Why should not a mitra and a “praise and worship team” stand side by side?”

My comment:
What you see is the rise of a spiritual whore in Oslo. The Pentecostal movement in Norway sold their souls to the Papacy in 2006, by closing down the Free Church Advisory Board, and merge with a National Church Council accepting Roman Catholicism as true Christianity.
Now, we can see the fruits of this gross spiritual mistake, and the betrayal of the gospel.
For many Baptists, its time for persecution and horrible times. Those who stand for the truth have become a small minority, powerless and marginalized.

The only thing we can do, is to rejoice. Because Jesus the Messiah has warned us in advance, that very less people will be able to stand till the and, and be saved.
Through Daniel, Jesus spoke these words:

 Daniel 12:7
The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand towards heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives for ever, saying, ‘It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.’

The idea that anything goes, as long as it can be branded as “love” is the culprit.
Now, we have come to this age that Daniel was told about. We are quickly approaching the end of the road. We will all face a small reign of the final anti-Messiah and his flock. Than the true Messiah will return and bring judgment.
 Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
Please, do not participate in the assemblies of the wicked. Rather, rejoice, my brethren. That you have been found worthy of suffering for the gospel.

VATICAN CITY (RNS) Floribeth Mora Diaz fought back tears on Thursday (April 24) as she claimed that the late Pope John Paul II had saved her from an inoperable brain aneurysm three years ago.

Mora will be on hand at Sunday’s historic ceremony in St. Peter’s Square as Pope Francis canonizes both John Paul and Pope John XXIII, the Italian pontiff known as “Good Pope John.”

The Costa Rican mother of four faced the world’s media to explain how her inexplicable recovery was a miracle that had led to the popular Polish pope being declared a saint. Two miracles have been attributed to John Paul’s intercession with God, paving the way for his sainthood.

In 2011, Mora was suffering from persistent headaches and was told by doctors that her days were numbered. They said her aneurism was in a “delicate” area and her only option was treatment in Mexico or Cuba, but her family could not afford it.

“The doctors told me there was no sense to continue treatment because they had done everything and there was not much more we could do,” Mora told a packed media conference.

Confined to bed, she lay holding a magazine with a cover photograph of the Polish pope in her home in Tres Rios de Cartago, 12 miles from the capital of San Jose. Her husband, Edwin, urged her to pray.
“My greatest concern was not dying but concern about what would happen to my children,” she said as her voice faltered.

She claimed her prayers were answered when John Paul II appeared to her in a vision on the day he was beatified — the first step on the road to sainthood — after he was credited with his first miracle.
“When I woke up in the morning, I looked at the magazine cover which showed Pope Wojtyla with his arms outstretched.

“I felt a deep sense of healing. I heard his voice say to me, ‘Get up and don’t be afraid,’” she said, recalling one of John Paul’s signature lines.
“I went to my husband in the kitchen and told him I was cured. I realized little by little the illness had been taken away.”

In a pre-recorded interview to be aired on Italian television on Thursday night, Mora gave more details about the rigorous medical tests conducted by the Vatican to verify the purported miracle.
Mora was flown to Policlinico Gemelli, a church-run hospital in Rome, where she was registered under a false name while doctors conducted tests for two weeks in October 2013.

“I was meant to be just a tourist from Costa Rica who had fallen ill while on holiday in Italy,” she said. “They demanded the greatest secrecy. No one was to know who I really was.”

Her own neurosurgeon was also convinced. “If I cannot explain it from a medical standpoint, something nonmedical happened,” said Dr. Alejandro Vargas Roman. “I can believe it was a miracle.”
The first miracle attributed to John Paul was the apparent healing of a French nun, Sister Marie Simon-Pierre, who recovered from Parkinson’s disease with no medical explanation after praying to the late pontiff soon after his death in 2005.

Pope Francis has provoked fierce debate within the church by approving John XXIII’s sainthood with only one miracle — not the two that are normally required.

John was beatified in August 2000, based on what was considered a miraculous healing of an Italian nun, Sister Caterina Capitani, after a medical commission found no scientific explanation for the event.

Sister Adele Labianca, who took care of Capitani, on Thursday revealed details of what she called the miracle that saved the nun’s life in May 1966 after she had prayed to the pope, who had died three years earlier.

Capitani had undergone an operation to remove a cancerous tumor in her stomach but her condition was deteriorating when she suddenly recovered. Labianca said doctors had no medical explanation for what took place.

“It was a miracle,” said Sister Labianca. “Not only was it a physical healing but an internal healing when you could feel the presence of God.”

Meanwhile, Ali Agca, the gunman who tried to assassinate John Paul in 1981, said that John Paul is not a saint and that attempts to “deify a human being” are sinful.

In an interview with the Italian news agency ANSA, Agca confirmed he “definitely wanted to kill” John Paul in St. Peter’s Square and said it was a “miracle” he survived.

After serving almost 20 years of a life sentence in prison in Italy, the Turkish national was pardoned in 2000 and deported to Turkey, where he was imprisoned for other crimes.

Book Review: Heaven is For Real

Heaven is for real
Right up front, let me say that I think Todd Burpo’s book Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back is one of the most naive, superficial, and disturbing “Christian” books I’ve read for a long time.
In brief, the book purports to tell of a 4 year old’s journey to heaven during a surgical procedure for a severe ruptured appendix. Following the procedure, and over a period of months and years, Colton, Todd’s son, gradually “revealed” bits and pieces of his alleged journey to heaven. Here’s what he “discovered” and/or “experienced” on his journey:

  • angels sang to him while he was in hospital
  • he was sitting on Jesus’ lap while he was in heaven
  • while in heaven, he saw his father praying in a small room in the hospital and his mother in a different room talking on the phone and praying
  • he met John the Baptist in heaven
  • Jesus has a rainbow coloured horse and wears a golden crown with a pink diamond
  • he was given “homework” to do in heaven while he was being cared for by his deceased grandfather – Pop
  • everyone in heaven has wings and flies around from place to place – except for Jesus who who levitates up and down like an elevator
  • everyone in heaven has a light above their heads (Todd Burpo interprets this in the book as a halo)
  • God is ‘really, really big’ and is so big he holds the world in his hands
  • Jesus sits at the right hand of God, Gabriel sits on God’s left, and the Holy Spirit is “kind of blue” and sits somewhere in the vicinity of the other three.
  • the gates of heave are made of gold and pearls
  • after Colton’s return to earth, he became obsessed with rainbows because of the incredible number of colours he saw in heaven
  • at times, following his return from heaven, Colton saw ‘power shot down from heaven’ while his dad was preaching
  • there are swords  and bows and arrows in heaven that the angels use to keep Satan out of heaven
  • the weaponry described above will apparently be used in a coming battle that destroys the world – and Colton’s dad will be fighting in that battle
  • the final battle will be against actual dragons and monsters while the women and children stand and watch the men fighting them
  • he meets ‘a sister’ in heaven – who was lost through miscarriage by the mother years before – and which the parents claim they never spoke to Colton about
  • he claimed to see Satan in heaven but wouldn’t say what he looked like
  • and he described what Jesus looked like, comparing people’s ideas of Jesus in their artworks as not right, until he was shown a painting of Christ by Akiane Kramarik which he said got the picture of Jesus right
There are a few more “revelations” in the book, but these are the essential ones. And all this was discovered in 3 minutes in heaven!

There are a number of reasons one should be highly sceptical of this book. Firstly, Colton was just 4 years old when he began to talk about his experience mostly prompted by his father – except for the first of his comments about the angels singing to him when he was having his surgery. Four year old children are renowned for making up stories and not being able, at this age, to distinguish fantasy from reality. After all, many children have imaginary friends and use their imagination constantly in making up stories while engaging in play. It would seem that the parents are still thinking like four year olds if they take what their kid says as literally true!

Secondly, why so many months and years for the story to develop – with the prompting of the parents? Surely if a child visited heaven they’d come back and be talking about it excitedly all at once – at least to start with. Haven’t we all heard children bubble over with enthusiasm after having an exciting experience? Not Colton. He doesn’t even mention it until he happens to say something about where his parents were during his operation. But given that it takes years for his whole “story” to come out, one has to wonder how much of it was constructed in response to his father’s questioning.

Thirdly, the “information” provided by Colton is so obviously consistent with an evangelical fundamentalist view that it is not hard to see it has being informed by this culture as he grew up. Colton’s father is a pastor and he admits to reading Bible stories to Colton as he grew up. He would have attended Sunday School and  been exposed to all the detail he has described even if unconsciously. It’s not surprising that his description of heaven draws on that culture.

Fourthly, Colton’s father holds to a literalist reading of the biblical Book of Revelation which most people quite rightly understand to be highly symbolic and figurative. Colton describes things like swords and horses (rainbow coloured, no less, obviously similar to the children’s Rainbow Brite toy!) in heaven and his father believes they are truly in heaven because verses in Revelation confirm it! So does Colton’s father believe there is really a slain lamb/lion creature actually there too?

Fifthly, if Colton’s descriptions of God on thrones with angels using swords to keep Satan out of heaven are to be taken literally, then God has been caught in an Old Testament era time warp. Are they really suggesting that God has eternally sat on thrones, ridden horses, fought with swords against real dragons? Most biblical scholars (and most Christians) would have a much more mature view of these issues than the childish view that Colton and his parents have. But then, of course, according to this book, we are to become like little children in our faith and just accept all this stuff without question.

Finally, the idea that Colton has told them a few things that he just couldn’t have known about is highly unlikely. Church communities are renowned gossiping communities and it is much more reasonable to assume that he heard some of these things than to believe they are supernaturally revealed.

There’s a lot more that could be said about this book. But the above will do. Heaven is for Real is simplistic, superficial, and naive. The most disturbing thing about this book is that it has become so popular – which doesn’t say much for the people that swallow it whole without a second thought – even to the extent of stating that they have had their faith strengthened by it. If this is all it takes to reaffirm faith then, to my mind, that faith is pretty fickle.

Bertone’s good life in the Vatican

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone is moving into a 600-square-metre Vatican apartment.

Cardinal Bretone can hinding behind palm leaves during Catholic Easter in 2013.
Cardinal Bertone hiding behind palm leaves during Catholic Easter in 2013.

This was recorded by the Italian daily La Repubblica on Sunday.
Tarcisio Bertone is the Vatican’s former Secretary of State, a role equivalent to prime minister, and the report said his luxury lodgings were stirring unease as Francis has pushed for clergymen to be more humble.
The flat also has a 100-square-metre roof terrace and is next to St Martha’s Residence — a Vatican hotel where Francis has taken up home, spurning the grander Apostolic Palace where popes usually live.

La Repubblica said that Bertone’s flat would be about 10 times bigger than the apartment where Francis is living and that he was planning to move in before the summer after extensive building work.
It said the house combined an apartment of up to 400 square metres formerly inhabited by the head of the gendarmerie under John Paul II and the roughly 200-square metre flat where a Vatican monsignor lived.
Bertone’s stint as Secretary of State under Benedict XVI was highly divisive in the Vatican administration and top clerics had asked the then pope to dismiss him.

He was accused by critics of being too authoritarian and too connected with sleazy Italian politics. Just before his removal by Francis in October last year, Bertone lashed out saying he was the victim of “moles and vipers” in the Vatican system.

Francis last month accepted the resignation of Germany’s controversial bishop of Limburg, who had come under fire for his luxury lifestyle.

Franz-Peter Terbartz-van Elst, nicknamed the “bling bishop” by the media, was criticised for his official residence, which included a museum, conference halls, a chapel and private apartments.
The project was valued at 5.5 million euros but the cost ballooned to 31 million euros ($43 million) — all using the revenue from a religious tax in Germany.

My comment:
Jesus the Messiah told us bluntly, not to base to much on what people are saying. But rather watch what they are doing.

Anyone, above the age of seven is able to read and quote scriptures. It takes a lot more to surrender to the Messiah, and live by the Word of God.
There is no fear of God in the religious movement funded by Roman Catholics. No move by the Holy Spirit.
Why?

The Vatican state was gifted to the Pope in 1929 by one of the biggest criminals of modern times. The Italian Fascist dictator, Benito Mussolini. You can not expect anything else, but horror from the Roman Catholic-Fascist nexus. The Pope supported the Fascists, in a deal that reestablished Roman Catholicism as state religion in Italy.

The Cardinals are all lawless men, who have built their life on corporation and collaboration with organized crime. They have been gifted diplomatic immunity by the International community. The Vatican state is the perfect cover-up for their businesses. Presented as a part of the Christian family, they also deceives millions of souls.

Matthew 15:8
“These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me”.
Come out of this religious movement, if you want to escape the fire of Hell. Repent, embrace life, and surrender to the King of Kings. Jesus the Messiah. Amen.

The UK is pagan not Christian

50 noble persons in the UK, have rebuked the PM for claiming the nation to be “Christian”.
David Cameron is rebuked for calling the UK for "Christian".
David Cameron is rebuked for calling the UK for “Christian”.

A group of scientists, academics and prominent writers accused British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday of stoking sectarian divisions through his repeated description of Britain as a “Christian country”.
The public figures, including authors Philip Pullman and Terry Pratchett, said they respected the Conservative leader’s own religious beliefs, which he has addressed in a series of statements.

But they took issue with his characterization of Britain saying, in a letter to the Daily Telegraph, the country was actually a “plural society” of largely “non-religious” people.

“To constantly claim otherwise fosters alienation and division in our society,” said the 55 members of the group that also included Nobel prize winning scientist John Sulston.

“It needlessly fuels enervating sectarian debates that are by and large absent from the lives of most British people, who do not want religions or religious identities to be actively prioritized by their elected government,” the letter added.

The 2011 census showed Christianity was the largest religion in England and Wales but the number of people who described themselves as Christian had fallen from almost 72 percent in 2001 to just over 59 percent, or 33.2 million people. About 14 million people said they had no religion.
Cameron told an Easter reception this month he was “proud to be a Christian myself and to have my children at a church school”.

In an article in the Church Times last week, he described himself as “a member of the Church of England, and, I suspect, a rather classic one: not that regular in attendance, and a bit vague on some of the more difficult parts of the faith”.

Britain, he added, should be more confident about its status as a Christian country and more evangelical.
Source: Voice of America

My comment:
Both David Cameron and his critics are right.
First: No nation are “Christian”. Only individuals are followers of Jesus the Messiah. As a group of followers, they form a Church.  No government, no friend of the present World.

Second: Most of the people in the UK, are pagans. They will face judgment, and will have to spend eternity in Hell. Just as they desire.
Third: It is not enough to be born into the Anglican Church to enter Heaven.  You have to be born again by the Spirit of God, and surrender to Jesus the Messiah. Then be baptized.

Forth:  For David Cameron, it is not enough to have become the Prime Minister. Anyhow, claiming to be a Christian is well and good. By the fruits, we will come to know if He is approved by heaven.
Lets pray for the Prime Minister, that His soul shall not be wasted. Jesus the Messiah accept all who are willing to repent. Amen.

Pope John Paul II Crucifix Falls, Crushes Man to Death

A man was crushed to death when a giant crucifix dedicated to Pope John Paul II collapsed and fell on him, ITV News reports. The accident came just days before a historic canonization that will see the late pope declared a saint.

The 98-foot-high wooden and concrete cross fell during a ceremony in the Italian Alpine village of Cevo on Thursday, killing 21-year-old student Marco Gusmini. Another man was taken to hospital.
The structure was dedicated to John Paul II on his visit to the region in 1998.

My comment:

This event is another sign from heaven, that Roman Catholics must repent from their idolatry. Or face judgment and destruction.
The Bible clearly forbid Jews and gentiles from shaping images of God. Still Roman Catholics shape images of saints, madonnas and “holy items”.

Revelation 9:20The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshipping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood – idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
The great irony, is that a lifeless statue of Catholic “Jesus” fell down and crushed a man to death.  This should clearly explain to all Catholics that statues that can not see, can not talk, can not hear, are lifeless idols. When this kind of “Jesus” fell down, the Word of God is fluffed. This kind of “god” could not even save it self from being crushed into pieces.

The true and living Messiah, can not be confined into a piece of stone and wood. He is the living God, Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
Those who obey Him, worship Him in spirit and in truth. They love Him, and obey His commandments.

Luke 20:18Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.’
To all Roman Catholics: Please repent, and leave this false and lifeless religion behind. Fall on Him, and be broken into pieces. It is surely to late, the day He falls on you and your are destroyed.
Please remember:  I loved you enough to tell you the truth.

Pope John Paul II crucifix crushes man to death in northern Italy

Updated Fri 25 Apr 2014, 2:36pm AEST
An Italian man has been crushed to death by a giant crucifix honouring John Paul II that collapsed during a ceremony ahead of the late pope's canonisation.

The 30-metre-high wooden cross toppled over during the event near the Alpine village of Cevo in northern Italy, instantly killing Marco Gusmini, 21, on Wednesday.

"It is an inexplicable tragedy. A young life, so many hopes, destroyed this way," Cevo mayor Silvio Citroni said.

"The boys ran in every direction when they heard the sound of the wood splintering," he said.
"Unfortunately, that poor boy went the wrong way."

Further celebrations to mark the pope's elevation to sainthood have been cancelled.
Mr Gusmini had a minor physical disability which may have slowed his reaction to the falling cross, Italian media reports said.

The accident happened just three days before John Paul II is declared a saint in the Vatican, along with Italian-born pope John XXIII.

Man who died in tragedy lived on street named after pope

According to the Corriere della Sera newspaper, Mr Gusmini lived with his family on a street named after John XXIII.

The Jesus Christ statue on the cross is six metres high and weighs 600 kilograms. The crucifix was curved and fixed to the ground with cables.

Its unusual shape was intended to represent the scars of World War II.

The cross was designed by sculptor Enrico Job and was created for John Paul II's visit to Brescia in the Lombardy region in northern Italy in 1998.
It was installed in a picturesque spot near the village of Cevo in 2005.

"The news has really shaken me. My thoughts go to the poor boy and his family," Mr Job's widow, film director Lina Wertmuller, told Ansa news agency.

"That cross was a great symbol for Italy, a symbol of protection. But all that seems silly in the face of this terrible tragedy," she said.

Mayor Silvio Citroni said the accident was ‘an unexplainable tragedy’. ‘A young life, so many hopes destroyed,’ he added.

‘The young people were making a snack for lunch and when they heard the crunching noises coming from the cross they fled in all directions. Unfortunately Marco ran in the wrong direction.

‘This is a place for pilgrimages and family visits. We never imagined that something like this could happen.’ Mr Citroni said maintenance work had been carried out on the crucifix last summer.
Mr Gusmini had been visiting the area with a church group from his home town of Bergamo, where - ironically - he lived on a street named after Pope John XXIII, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The tragedy will inevitably be seen as an ill omen for Sunday’s celebration when John Paul II is to be declared a saint, along with Italian pope John XXIII.

Justin Welby Says Britain Is NOT A Christian Country, Based On Empty Pews

The Huffington Post UK |  By Posted:   |  Updated: 24/04/2014 14:59 BST

As the national debate about faith in the UK continues, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said Britain is “certainly not” a Christian country in terms of those who actually show up at church.

The number of people actively attending church contradicts with David Cameron’s claims that Britain is a Christian country, Justin Welby said in a blog post.

But despite falling church attendance in the UK, the archbishop acknowledged that it was a “historical fact” that British society and culture was “shaped by and founded on” Christianity.
The debate was sparked after the Prime Minister wrote an article in the Church Times saying Britain ought to be unashamedly “evangelical” about Christianity.

The article provoked a response from more than 50 leading public figures, organised by the British Humanist Association, warning Mr Cameron risked sowing "alienation and division" in society.
But Welby, who described the reaction as "baffling and at the same time quite encouraging", said it was good the Prime Minister's claims had sparked debate.

He claimed that Christianity thrived amid “hatred and opposition” rater than “comfortable indifference”.
In a post on twitter, he added: “It's good that people care.”
He wrote: "The Prime Minister and other members of the Government have not said anything very controversial.

"Judging by the reaction, anyone would think that the people concerned had at the same time suggested the return of the Inquisition (complete with comfy chairs for Monty Python fans), compulsory church going and universal tithes.

He added: "It is clear that, in the general sense of being founded in Christian faith, this is a Christian country.
"It is certainly not in terms of regular churchgoing, although altogether, across different denominations, some millions attend church services each week.

"Others of different backgrounds have also positively shaped our common heritage.
"But the language of what we are, what we care for and how we act is earthed in Christianity, and would remain so for many years even if the number of believers dropped out of sight (which they won't, in my opinion)."

Britain is a 'post-Christian' country says former Archbishop

Lord Williams, the former Archbishop of CanterburyLord Williams retired from being the leader of the Church of England in 2012

Britain is now a "post-Christian" country, former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has said.
Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, Lord Williams said Britain was not a nation of believers and that the era of widespread worship was over.

It comes after Prime Minister David Cameron said people in Britain should be confident of its status as "a Christian country".

Deputy PM Nick Clegg said the Church and state should be separated.
Writing in the Church Times, Mr Cameron said Christians made a difference to people's lives and should be more evangelical about it.

This prompted a group of 50 public figures to write a letter insisting that the UK was "a non-religious" and "plural" society and that to claim otherwise fostered "alienation and division".
David Cameron talks to officials as he visits the Church of the Nativity in the West Bank town of Bethlehem on Thursday, March 13, 2014In March, the PM visited the church in Bethlehem situated where Jesus is said to have been born
'Committed believers'

Lord Williams, who retired from being the leader of the Church of England in 2012, said: "If I say that this is a post-Christian nation, that doesn't mean necessarily non-Christian.
"It means the cultural memory is still quite strongly Christian."

He added: "But [Britain is] post-Christian in the sense that habitual practice for most of the population is not taken for granted.

"A Christian nation can sound like a nation of committed believers and we are not that. Equally, we are not a nation of dedicated secularists.

"It's a matter of defining terms. A Christian country as a nation of believers? No.
"A Christian country in the sense of still being very much saturated by this vision of the world and shaped by it? Yes."

The current Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, has supported Mr Cameron.
On his blog he wrote it was a "historical fact (perhaps unwelcome to some, but true)" that UK law, ethics and culture were based on its teachings and traditions.

The 10 Most Enormous Churches In America

 http://www.therichest.com/rich-list/the-biggest/the-10-biggest-american-megachurches/

While numerous religious Americans shuffle modestly into their local place of worship every Sunday, hand-in-hand with close family, friends and neighbours, across the United States tens of thousands are lining up in rock concert fashion amidst hoards of strangers waiting to fill worship facilities the size of Yankee Stadium.

These aren’t your mom-and-pop community churches: Their pews look more like arena seats; their pastors are charismatic self-help orators with multi-million dollar book deals; they conduct intense market research and take opinion polls; they orchestrate sleek, targeted adverts while hawking Christian music CDs and fanzines, and preaching open, flexible personal morality with a loosely religious basis; and in case you can’t abide the lineups, many of them dish out upwards of $15 million a year to air their sermons live on national cable.

Shiny multimedia web pages, high-profile promotions and huge income streams make US megachurches ostensibly indistinguishable from any other big business. There’s one important difference, though: Churches, mega or not, pay zippo in taxes (that includes property tax) and disclose next to nothing about their revenues. As most megachurches are non-denominational in the religious sense, many have criticized that a Jesus here, a Corinthians there is all it takes for that tax-free religious label — and all the perks — to stick. Certain worrying facts have emerged that don’t help the public image of these megachurches much: One of these churches made illegal contributions to Republican campaigns in 2011, and another apparently dabbled in embezzlement in the same year.

Over 3,000 large churches in the US currently draw crowds of more than 2,000 people to a service, making intimate community worship a thing of the past for millions of Americans. But we’re interested in the largest of the large; the so-called “big box churches” regularly attended by over 10,000 people. Raking in multi-million dollar profits annually and giving new meaning to the phrase “go big or go home”, these megachurches are the new face of worship for the modern age of America.

1. Lakewood Church, Houston, Texas: 43,500 weekly attendances

 Lakewood_church

Community meeting: If anyone has any information about the $600,000 theft ($200,000 in cash) from the Lakewood Church safe two weeks ago, Pastor Joel Osteen says he’s offering a $25,000 reward. We suppose that’s pretty generous even for a four-time New York Times Bestseller who preaches to 20 million television viewers in 100 countries monthly, and 43,500 in person weekly from the former Compaq Center arena—home of the Houston Rockets, the Houston Aeros and the Houston Comets.

Unlike the other 9 biggest megachurches in America, Lakewood operates out of this single massive non-denominational megachurch in the heart of the Bible Belt, Houston, Texas. Its four worship leaders preach a brand of theology-lite designed for the everyday believer; it’s a gig so successful that it emerged completely unscathed by the 2009 financial crisis. The church spends over $30 million yearly on broadcasting its arena spectacle which has been criticized for the absence of any crosses, altars, or traditional evangelical Christian symbols. If a trip to Houston doesn’t fit your budget, you can always wait for Pastor Joel Osteen’s next international tour. But get your tickets fast—the last one sold out Yankee Stadium.

2. LifeChurch.tv, Edmond, Oklahoma: 26,776 weekly attendances

 LifeChurch_TV

LifeChurch.tv founder Craig Groeschel — basically the Mark Zuckerberg of Christianity —holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and a Master of Divinity (yes that’s a thing). While over 26,000 attend its main campus in Edmond, the full scale of LifeChurch’s operations can’t be “visited” per se; its heavy emphasis on web 2.0 would put most businesses to shame.

Apart from broadcasting interactive prayer services live every week like any competitive megachurch would, LifeChurch.tv also manages its own “internet campus” on the immensely popular online virtual world Second Life. LifeChurch have developed the most popular Bible app in the world for smart phones, YouVersion, with over 100 million downloads since 2008. If virtual worship isn’t quite your thing, put on some jeans and head down to one of LifeChurch.tv’s 18 campuses for the full concert experience. A splendid time is guaranteed with refreshments, religious pop-rock and high-profile praise-worship.

3. Fellowship Church, Grapevine, Texas: 24,000 weekly attendances

 fellowship

Although officially affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Fellowship Church is another megachurch of the “seeker-sensitive” movement which avoids the strict dogmatic ideals of major organized religions. Lead pastor Ed Young, the son of the Second Baptist Church’s lead pastor (also Ed Young), has released 14 books to date. His latest Sexperiment: 7 Days to Lasting Intimacy with Your Spouse— which might sound familiar (see entry ten) — became a New York Times Best Seller in 2011. But at 24,000 weekly attendees, it seems he’s at least following his own advice from his 2007 book In the Zone: How to Live in the Sweet Spot of God’s Success.

4. Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington, Illinois: 23,400 weekly attendances

 willowcreek-megachurch_thumb

One of the largest theaters in the United States, with a capacity of 7,000, can be found in Willow Creek’s newest “Worship Center” built in 2004. By all accounts a prototypical non-denominational megachurch, President Obama himself took the stage in 2010 to access pastor Bill Hybels’ thriving base of followers. Hybel also founded the “Global Leadership Summit”—a yearly training event aiming to transform church and ministry frontrunners around the world into sharper, more inspirational leaders.

5. North Point Community Church, Alpharetta, Georgia: 23,377 weekly attendances

 north-point-community-church2

This non-denominational evangelical megachurch attracts over one million visitors to their online sermons and leadership messages a month. Operated under a parent organization called North Point Ministries, its mission statement is to establish a network of churches for the “unchurched” through strategic partnerships around the globe – an international operation from Michigan to Mexico to Macedonia. Five Georgia-based churches currently draw around 24,000 weekly, thanks to senior pastor Andy Stanley’s enterprising efforts and charismatic live performances. The laser show (as seen above) probably helps, too.

6. Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas: 22,723 weekly attendances

 Second Baptist Church 2010 01

By some accounts the largest Baptist church in the country, the Second Baptist Church has a current membership of over 63,000 and one of the largest pipe organs in the world. Pastor Ed Young once described it as “a town within a city”; its West Campus alone manages a 4,500-seat worship center, a 200,000 square-foot classroom facility and a 600-seat black box theatre. It has five campuses including fitness centers, bookstores, information desks, a K-12 school and a café. And the annual budget for this tax-exempt church? $55 million a year.

7. Saddleback Valley Community Church, Lake Forest, California: 22,418 weekly attendances

 saddleback

Pastor Rick Warren’s 2002 The Purpose Driven Life has become the bestselling non-fiction hardcover in history (over 30 million copies as of 2007) and the second most-translated book in the world after the Bible. He made so much from book sales alone that he returned 25 years of his church salary in 2005, and has since forged a partnership with Readers Digest and received the International Medal of Peace from former president George W. Bush.

Founded in the 80s, Warren Saddleback Valley Community Church employs the typical “seeker-sensitive” megachurch growth methods designed to recruit “spiritual seekers” rather than the strictly religious. Saddleback operates 9 regional campuses in addition to the main site at Lake Forest, which hosted the 2008 Civil Forum on the Presidency with candidates John McCain and Barack Obama live on national TV.

8. West Angeles Church of God in Christ, Los Angeles, California: 20,000 weekly attendances

 westangeles

In the heart of L.A.’s glamorous Historic West Adams district is the main wing of the Church of God in Christ. Its star-studded members includes basketball hero Magic Johnson, A-list actor Denzel Washington and soul legend Stevie Wonder. According to Ebony magazine, current pastor Charles E. Blake – something of a celebrity himself – is one of the most influential black men in America. His leadership since 1969 has seen the church expand from 40 to over 22,000 members.

9. Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Kentucky: 17,261 weekly attendances

 southeast

Bringing you the best in evangelical Christian wisdom since 1962, Southeast Christian Church has expanded into four separate satellite campuses since 2007 and boast their own TV website complete with podcasts and live sermon streams. If you have any Christian relative birthdays coming up, consider checking out their online bookstore “The Living Word” where you can pick up an Easter Experience movie for $14.99, or The Story Transcript Package for $199.99 on sale…

10. Fellowship of the Woodlands, The Woodlands, Texas: 17,142 weekly attendances

index
Numerous local community churches in the US have been well established for over a century, but this Christian non-denominational megachurch since 1993 is already the 4th fastest growing in the country. Its pastor Kerry Shook made it onto the bestseller list with his 2008 book One Month to Live: 30 Days to a No-Regrets Life, and more recently with Love at Last Sight (abstract: take the 30-day challenge to learn the secrets of healthy, lasting relationships). Today the pastor’s broadcasts reach all 50 US states and over 200 countries worldwide.

Liberty University fines students for not listening to cult leader

Liberty University invited Mormon Glenn Beck to preach to its students at its compulsory convocation last week, handing out $10 fines to residential students who didn’t have a suitable excuse for not attending.
The Beck sermon continues a worrying trend that signals Liberty’s rapid retreat from Christian orthodoxy to an unapologetic embrace of false religions and heretics, starting with self-proclaimed messiah Rev. Moon in the 1990s, to Benny Hinn and the Mormon church today. Though it still markets itself as a Christian university, its definition as to what passes as Christian is not one shared by most of the churches that send their young people there for an education.

We’ve covered Liberty’s affiliation with the Moonie cult and Benny Hinn on this blog before, and Beck’s heretical sermon last week suggests that the toleration of false teachers like Moon and Hinn weren’t aberrations. Foisting heresy on students is becoming Liberty’s signature.

Liberty hosts convocation events throughout the year to which students are compelled to attend. Although it’s not part of the chapel program, most speakers are Christians, and most use the event to preach. Clayton King and Steven Furtick are regular convocation speakers.

Jerry Falwell and Ron Godwin (behind the white-haired man) listen to Glenn Beck preach to a captive audience of students.
Jerry Falwell and Ron Godwin (behind the white-haired man) listen to Glenn Beck preach to a captive audience of students.
Because convocation is not technically reserved for Christian speakers, it occasionally hosts cultural and political leaders. For example, this semester it invited Michael Reagan (son of Ronald), and Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, the producers of the “Son of God” television series. The alarming feature of last week’s message is that Beck did not appear as a political or cultural leader; instead, he used his time to preach a message full of theological assertions that were unchallenged by the university, and which received a standing ovation from Jerry Falwell at the end of the event. Liberty’s website boasted of the event’s success, again without providing any disclaimer from or correction to Beck’s deceptive and antichristian teaching. In fact, the Liberty account of the sermon simply repeats Beck’s deceptions, apparently unaware and unconcerned that Liberty is being used as a tool to promote a false religion.
At the beginning of the convocation meeting, Jerry Falwell introduced Beck in glowing terms, welcoming him as a friend of the university and reminding students that he had also been a commencement speaker. No mention of his Mormon faith was made, so he appeared to be joining Falwell on stage as a Christian brother. During his sermon, Beck did acknowledge his Mormon identity, though asserted that he was a Christian just like Falwell and everybody else, except he was from a different denomination.
I share your faith. I am from a different denomination, and a denomination, quite honestly, that I’m sure can make many people at Liberty uncomfortable. I’m a Mormon, but I share your faith in the atonement of the savior, Jesus Christ. In my faith, we have a guy who gave his life for what he believed in. You don’t have to believe it; I’m not asking you to. I’m asking you, “What is it that you believe? Are you willing to give your life?”
Not only does Beck attach his false religion to Christianity, he holds a false prophet up as an example for Liberty students to emulate.
Glenn Beck shows off Joseph Smith's pocket watch
Glenn Beck shows off Joseph Smith’s pocket watch
As a Mormon, Beck is not some casual adherent; the church and the need to spread its message consumes his life. He opened with a tearful confession that he doesn’t spend every possible moment studying his church’s teachings. Among other historical artifacts on display during the presentation, he displayed the pocket watch that Joseph Smith surrendered immediately before his death. One would imagine such an artifact would be rare and highly valued among his co-religionists, and you’d expect to see it in a museum, not a preacher’s pocket. Beck often alluded to his own prophetic calling by God, considering it an honor to be in God’s service as a leader in his church. To be able to take his Mormon theology and preach to what he identified as “the biggest collection of Christian youth meeting in America today” is a privilege that Beck surely takes seriously. (The self-conscious references to being a national religious leader echoed Rev. Moon’s charge to Liberty’s current provost, Ron Godwin, to take the Moonie cultist message to the evangelical world.)
Beck’s sermon and Liberty’s unwitting acceptance of it constitute an excellent case study in how false teachers infiltrate the church. False teachers never appear wearing horns and announcing that they are dangerous wolves. Instead, they look and sound like they’re preaching God’s truth, injecting their deceptions at the edges when nobody is looking, or manipulating language to lull the audience into agreeing to statements that carry secondary, false meanings. Beck was a master at it, and Liberty appears to have no idea what hit them. Here’s how Beck got to teach his false religion to thousands of students at America’s largest Christian university.

Scripture

At first blush, Beck appears to be a devotee of Scripture, and he even quoted passages from the Old and New Testaments. The giveaway was his refusal to refer to Scripture as a singular noun, always referring to Scriptures. You can hear it throughout the sermon, but let’s just look at two quotes that Liberty itself thought excellent enough to repeat in its press release (again, without any hint that they know what Beck is doing):
“The times are changing, and if we are going to rebuild our nation and keep people free, then we have to look at the source,” Beck said, holding up a Bible. “You have to know what the blueprint is. And the blueprint for freedom … is the Scriptures.”
“Man is free because of the Scriptures.”
The reason that Beck uses the plural form is that the 66 books of the Christian Bible are only one part of four sacred texts that comprise Mormonism’s “Scriptures.” One of those books, the Book of Mormon, was discovered and interpreted by Joseph Smith and tells the story of Jesus’ ministry to North America. Even though Beck believes the Book of Mormon is just as sacred as the Bible, he was smart enough not to use any references from it in his sermon, making it appear that his references to “Scriptures” were to the Christian Bible.

Atonement

Beck often referred to the atoning power of Jesus, which had helped change his life into what it is today. For example, early in the sermon he said,
Are you taking your life, are you taking your scriptures as seriously as you should? I will tell you that I was a man that was lost and hopeless. I’m a recovering alcoholic. I couldn’t hold my sobriety until the atoning power of Jesus Christ. [applause]
The idea of atonement comes up elsewhere in the sermon, but never the cross. For Beck and other Mormons, Jesus performed his atoning work primarily in the garden of Gethsemane when he sweat blood. In other words, the cross and the death and resurrection of Jesus weren’t necessary for his atoning work, though Mormons will include the cross as part of the atoning process that began in the garden. It wasn’t Jesus death that makes us right with God, it was his work of suffering, which, though it did happen while he was still alive on the cross, mainly happened in the garden.
Atonement is an important theological term, though Beck gets away with using it in front of a Christian audience who probably have no idea that he actually denies the Christian atonement taught in evangelical churches for millennia. As Indigo Montoya pointed out in The Princess Bride, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

Purpose

Beck asks Liberty’s students to find their God-given purpose because God “brought us all here for a reason.” He wanted students to see that they had a higher purpose, and that Liberty could help them reach it.
You didn’t come down for a job…. You need an education from Liberty University because of your only true job, the purpose you were sent here for: to magnify Him. To bring Him to others. To do what it is that you’re supposed to do. To preserve liberty, the liberty of all mankind.
Note the language of transportation – brought us, come down– rather than the language of creation. This, too, is consistent with Mormon theology that we, with God, are eternal beings who lived with God before he sent us to earth. Because our time here, according to Mormon teaching, is a test, we don’t remember our previous life with God. We pass God’s test if we figure out the reason we were sent here in the first place.

Works

What we do while on earth is of utmost importance to the Mormon god. Beck tells Liberty’s students that they need to figure out their reason for being here. He also appropriates the language of Joshua to ask the audience to “choose who you will be,” not whom you will serve. This is not a slip of the tongue. Our identity and works determine whether we pass the test of life’s struggle, and our performance determines what level of heaven we go back to.
In a sermon to other Mormons, the head president of the church explained how works matter.
I have been thinking recently about choices and their consequences. It has been said that the gate of history turns on small hinges, and so do people’s lives. The choices we make determine our destiny….
We all know where we want to go, and it does matter which way we go, for the path we follow in this life surely leads to the path we will follow in the next.
The Mormon articles of faith also make it clear that it is works that save us, not Christ alone.
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. [emphasis added]
This Mormon explanation of their beliefs shows the relationship between Jesus’ atoning work on the cross (not death and resurrection) and our obligation to obey and strive for good works:
We know that in the Garden of Gethsemane, the weight of our sins caused Him to feel such agony that He bled from every pore (Doctrine and Covenants 19:16-17).
Later, as He hung upon the cross, Jesus again felt the weight of our sins even as He willingly suffered painful death by one of the most cruel methods ever known. Jesus the Christ, page 462 states, “It seems, that in addition to the fearful suffering incident to crucifixion, the agony of Gethsemane had recurred, intensified beyond human power to endure. In that bitterest hour the dying Christ was alone, alone in most terrible reality.”…
Jesus Christ did what only He could do in atoning for our sins. To make His Atonement fully effective in our individual lives, we must have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized and confirmed by one having authority, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, obey God’s commandments, receive sacred ordinances, and strive to become like Him. As we do these things through His Atonement, we can return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father forever. [emphasis added]
Joseph Smith taught that we “are justified of faith and works, through grace.” This is not the gospel, so it’s not Christian. Paul clearly condemned such teaching as false and antichristian.
If someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough….
And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. (2 Cor 11:4, 12-15)
“Put up with it readily enough” could describe Liberty, except that they not only put up with it, they invited and promoted it.

Appropriating Jesus’ Name

Although Beck repeatedly refers to Jesus, he does not believe in the Christian Jesus, and, therefore, the Christian God. Mormons reject the Trinity and the eternal existence of Christ. They also reject monotheism, believing that we can all become gods.
Appallingly then, Beck misappropriates the language of orthodox Christian belief (mixed with a touch of Benny Hinn) to inspire students to ask God for miracles:
What is it that you truly believe? …Too many of us are worshipping the god of the Constitution. Not the Constitution, but God. God is our God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God peace, of comfort, of miracles. Expect miracles in your lifetime. Live in such a way that you can demand miracles. Expect miracles. Call down miracles. And then when they happen, pronounce them. Declare them. Never be shy, no matter how small or how big, don’t explain it away. That is the awesome power of Jesus Christ and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. [applause]
He finished the sermon by saying, “I leave you this message in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Glenn Beck was invited to a Christian university and was able to preach to thousands of its students as if he were a brother in Christ, when in fact he is a wolf and a false teacher. If Liberty’s administrators knew it, they did not warn their students of Beck’s apostasy, and in so doing flatly ignored Paul’s instructions on how to treat such teachers.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. (Gal 1:6-8)
If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,… flee these things. (1 Tim 6:3, 11)
Liberty’s appalling lack of discernment, especially when it promises parents that it will train their children in the Christian faith, would be surprising if we didn’t know its history and tolerance for false teachers like Moon and Hinn. You’d think Beck’s error would be obvious and that his name would be quickly stricken from Liberty’s convocation invitation lists. Why it wasn’t was perhaps revealed by Beck himself on his radio show:
When I die, if I have anything left I will be leaving a large sum of money to Liberty University because these guys are truly remarkable.
Well, OK then. For a growing university, the promise of a large donation covers a multitude of sins.

TD Jakes Returns to 'Oprah's Lifeclass' to Help Viewers Get Over Their Past and Find a 'New Way of Thinking'

T.D. Jakes, megachurch pastor, bestselling author and film producer, is teaming up with Oprah Winfrey for another "Lifeclass" event this week to help viewers get over whatever past hurts or tragedies might be holding them back, and inspire them to embrace a "new way of thinking."

"Are you your own worst enemy? Are negative thoughts and self-doubt holding you back from living your best life? Have you had major setbacks in your personal or professional life that have shaken your confidence?" are some of the myriad questions posed to potential participants in the April 30 "Oprah's Lifeclass."

A form seeking participants on Oprah.com insists, "Oprah and Bishop T.D. Jakes are ready to help you live the life you've always wanted on an upcoming #Lifeclass."

The "Oprah's Lifeclass" event, not the first appearance for Bishop Jakes, will allow online viewers to participate by logging on when the program goes live in Chicago on Wednesday at noon ET.
Previous discussions during Jakes' appearances on "Oprah's Lifeclass," and a similar event held at his 2013 MegaFest, centered on purpose, family issues and fatherlessness.

The "Oprah's Lifeclass" event, which is being filmed this week and airing on OWN on May 4, appears to fall along lines similar to the message delivered by Jakes during a "LifeClass" at MegaFest, when he touched on the consequences of people holding on to their past.

April 26 - Rwandan President Paul Kagame Joins Saddleback Church in Celebrating ‘PEACE’ 20 Years after the Genocide

Article: Emerging Church

President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame, joined Pastor Rick Warren on Saturday, April 26, 2014, for “Kwibuka 20”, a special service at Saddleback Church to honor the victims of the Rwandan genocide 20 years later and celebrate the partnership and efforts of The PEACE Plan in Rwanda over the past 10 years.“This moment is important for me, personally, and for Rwanda because it brings us to remember the more than 1 million individuals who lost their life and honor the strength of survival and resilience of Rwanda that has kept our nation alive,” said President Kagame.  “During the genocide, almost every church betrayed its divine mission. Rwandans sought refuge in the church only to be betrayed. But today, things are different. Thank you, Saddleback members, for providing a meaningful partnership. Faith in God is once again a sense of comfort for many Rwandans.”

Eleven years ago, President Kagame, after reading Pastor Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Church,” invited Saddleback to start sending members to help make Rwanda the first Purpose-Driven nation and the first national model of The PEACE Plan. The church responded and has today sent more than 1,200 Saddleback members to serve in Rwanda.

The PEACE Plan works worldwide to “Promote reconciliations”, “Equip servant leaders”, “Assist the poor”, “Care for the sick” and “Educate the next generation”. It is a massive effort to mobilize millions of Christians to attack the five global evil giants of spiritual emptiness, self-centered leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic disease, and illiteracy/education. Since its founding in 2003, Saddleback has sent over 21,000 members to implement The PEACE Plan in 197 nations.

“God tells us to remember the past,” said Pastor Warren. “More than 2,000 years ago, another nation by the name of Israel was torn by war and everyone thoughts its days were over. But God raised up a business leader, government leader and spiritual leaders to restore the country. God knew it would take all three sectors to rebuild the nation. In this same way, Rwanda has been rebuilt.”

Through The PEACE Plan in Rwanda, Saddleback Church has worked together with the public, private and faith sectors of Rwanda – what it calls the three-legged stool of churches, government and businesses – to help lower the poverty rate, empty orphanages, provide healthcare, train pastors, and provide education.

During the service, Pastor Warren announced that in 2015, Saddleback will host the first continent-wide Purpose Driven leadership training in Rwanda, bringing in more than 1,000 leaders from 54 African countries.

LAKE FOREST, CA (ANS) -- President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame, joined Pastor Rick Warren on Saturday, April 26, 2014, for “Kwibuka 20”, a special service at Saddleback Church to honor the victims of the Rwandan genocide 20 years later and celebrate the partnership and efforts of The PEACE Plan in Rwanda over the past 10 years.

According to a news release from A. Larry Ross Communications, “Kwibuka” means “20” in Kinyarwanda. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, which began April 7, 1994. The genocide took the lives of 1 million Rwandans and left 1 million children orphaned over the course of 100 days before it ended in July 1994.
“This moment is important for me, personally, and for Rwanda because it brings us to remember the more than 1 million individuals who lost their life and honor the strength of survival and resilience of Rwanda that has kept our nation alive,” said President Kagame.
A shocking scene during the Rwandan Genocide
“During the genocide, almost every church betrayed its divine mission. Rwandans sought refuge in the church only to be betrayed. But today, things are different. Thank you, Saddleback members, for providing a meaningful partnership. Faith in God is once again a sense of comfort for many Rwandans.”Eleven years ago, President Kagame, after reading Pastor Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Church,” invited Saddleback to start sending members to help make Rwanda the first Purpose-Driven nation and the first national model of The PEACE Plan. The church responded and has today sent more than 1,200 Saddleback members to serve in Rwanda.

In this same way, Rwanda has been rebuilt.” Through The PEACE Plan in Rwanda, Saddleback Church has worked together with the public, private and faith sectors of Rwanda – what it calls the three-legged stool of churches, government and businesses – to help lower the poverty rate, empty orphanages, provide healthcare, train pastors, and provide education.
“When we first visited Rwanda, we had no idea what we were doing or what we had to give, but we brought what we knew, which was the love of Christ,” said Kay Warren, co-founder of Saddleback Church.
The Saddleback leadership saw the magnitude of churches in Rwanda where healthcare facilities were lacking and envisioned a model of training church members to provide care. Today, just over 9,000 trained health workers volunteer to make house calls and serve families in villages that will never have a doctor.
A happier scene with Pastor Rick Warren with Rwandan children during a visit to the country
Additionally, Saddleback has seen the number of people living below the poverty rate in Rwanda drop 11 percent and has used local churches to work toward the goal of emptying every orphanage and place every orphan in a family by the end of 2014. Currently, there are only 1,400 orphans left in orphanages.Over 3,200 pastors have completed a three-year intensive training in the purpose-driven PEACE Plan. These churches now offer everything from micro-savings clubs to preschools to programs training farmers how to double their crops on the same amount of land.

“The mission of Rwanda to not create a dependency on others is why The PEACE Plan has thrived so well in this nation,” Pastor Warren said. “The PEACE Plan is built on the Great Commandment that says, ‘Go and teach them,’ not do for them. People need trade, not aid. They don't need a hand out, they need a hand up.”
During the service, Pastor Warren announced that in 2015, Saddleback will host the first continent-wide Purpose Driven leadership training in Rwanda, bringing in more than 1,000 leaders from 54 African countries.
“Our relationship with Saddleback has contributed to the renewal of our country,” President Kagame said. “We continue to work together with friends to ensure our future no longer holds fear but opportunity.”
President Paul Kagame speaking
Fifty percent of Rwanda is under the age of 20, and 71 percent are under 30. President Kagame shared during the service of Rwanda's efforts to remember its past and educate a new generation of the past so they don't take things for granted. Throughout the evening, Pastor Warren spoke favorably about Rwanda's exponential growth over the last 20 years, saying God has blessed Rwanda because they have chosen to forgive, are willing to work together, have trusted God, understand they cannot repeat the past, and refuse to give up.

With 15,000 seat-capacity, is Pastor Imelda Namutebi’s new church the biggest in Uganda and in the region?

The new home of Liberty Worship Centre International has cost over sh6b after about 10 years of construction.

Located in Lugala, Rubaga division a Kampala suburb, the facility is seated on a 17-acre piece of land.

“It is a 70 meters by 42,” said Eng. James Musoke, the head of the construction work at the site.

On the outside, it looks one immense - three-storied and endless in length. But the real beauty or what you can say is a state-of-the-art décor inside.

The auditorium is simply class: tiled through, with magnificent lights and a stage beaming a turn-key plug and play sound system. It has immense pillars curving a C in the middle, and a mezzanine to accommodate more worshippers.

Pastor Imelda Namutebi, the ministries founder, said the completion was a “testimony of God’s work in me.”

“I planned the structure myself, and then sought the architectures’ approval and after that we started. We didn’t have money, but people would donate. Someone would say ‘I am donating forty bags of cement. Another would say, ‘I am donating all the doors.’ So this you are seeing is a success story of everyone,” Namutebi said.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officially commission the church on Saturday.

Pastor Namutebi’s salvation journey started in 1986. That’s when she joined Kayanja’s Rubaga Miracle Centre, then in Kabusu, another Kampala suburb. She was a helper at the Kayanjas.

Between 1990 and 1993, she started moving door to door, practicing what she had been taught, preaching the word of God. Through fellowships, she partnered with Pastor Isaac Kiwewesi to start the Kansanga Miracle Centre.  In 1998, Namutebi parted ways with Kiwewesi and started Liberty Worship Centre in Mengo.

KAMPALA.
President Museveni has commissioned a 15,000 seater church in Lugala, a Kampala suburb.
The Shs7 billion newly-constructed Liberty Worship Centre church is run by Pastor Imelda Namutebi.
President Museveni told thousands of worshippers who attended the opening ceremony on Saturday that in 1986, he was under pressure from the mainstream religions to ban born-again churches but he refused.
“Some very good friends of mine from the mainstream and old churches came to me and said you were misleading people and wanted me to stop you. But I found it difficult. I ignored their advice. But today, it seems the born-again churches have done a good job,” he said.
The President also donated Shs20 million towards the construction of a health centre at the Liberty Worship Centre which Pastor Namutebi is intending to build for the neighbouring community.

President Yoweri Museveni has asked Born-again Christians to employ the skills they use in collecting funds for God’s work to set up communal income generating projects to spur development.

Speaking at the inauguration of Liberty Worship Centre Cathedral, which is now Uganda’s biggest church, the President said individuals have power to do mighty things if only they could unite.

While it is important to construct churches, the President said Christians also ought to think of strategies to boost their incomes and help their poor colleagues out of poverty.

“When you built this church (Liberty), you were benefactors. Now I want you to use the same philosophy (of fundraising) to become investors,” said the President in response to Pastor Imelda Namutebi’s disclosure that the sh6b cathedral was built using believers’ contributions.

“The church is for worshiping but you do not make money from worshiping. You should use the same formula you used to build the church to start projects where you are the beneficiaries. Buy a maize mill or build hostels so that you make money.”

Ministers, MPs, Police officers and pastors from different churches were among the thousands who braved Saturday’s morning rain to attend the grand opening of the 15,000-seater church.

Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre, Namutebi’s mentor, said prayers dedicating the church to God and lauded Museveni for restoring freedom of worship in the country.

The President commended Namutebi for espousing good leadership skills by not putting the believers’ money in her pocket. He said completion of the magnificent church manifest that “small animals can achieve a lot and defeat a mighty one when they combine strength.”

He caused ululations when he retold a story that he rejected a request from a senior member of one of the traditional churches to ban the Pentecostal (Balokole) movement in 1986.

“The man said that Balokole were misleading people. But Jesus also said if they are not against us, they are for us. That’s why I ignored my friend’s advice and let the people to pray the way they want,” he said.

“The Bible says we shall know them by their fruits. From what you are doing, it seems your fruits are clear. Balokole churches seem to have done a good job especially among the youth,” the President added before donating sh20m to Namutebi.

Sitting on 17 acres of land in Lugala, Rubaga Division in Kampala, the church measures 70m by 42m, close to the size of a football pitch. It has an auditorium for 15,000 people, conference room, treasury, kitchen and a VIP lounge.

The storied building, which took Namutebi almost 10 years to complete, also houses a health centre, which offers free treatment to believers and nearby villagers.

Namutebi envisions transforming the facility into a fully-fledged hospital to widen its scope of services and the number of people treated.  There will also be a care centre for disadvantaged women and a youth training centre, among other projects.

Tourism minister Maria Mutagamba, who also attended the inauguration, told New Vision of a plan to include the cathedral on the list of faith-based tourism sites. Other sites include Uganda martyrs shrine, Bahai temple, Gadhafi and Kibuli mosques as well as Rubaga Catholic and Namirembe Protestant cathedrals.

“(Namutebi’s) cathedral is big and magnificent. It gives believers hope and courage. It will be good for Uganda’s tourism if they start holding international conferences there,” Mutagamba said.

Pastor Kayanja said Museveni was “God-sent from heaven to heal Uganda’s political problems, fight sectarianism and emancipate people.”

Kayanja vowed to pray for Museveni to continue leading Ugandan as the country still has challenges that need serious managers to solve.

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni has advised born-again Christians in the country to use the same spirit they exhibit when contributing money for building houses of prayer to do the same and start income generating activities that will provide them with financial security.

“When Pastor Namutebi told you to stand up, she said you are investors who had combined forces to build the Cathedral. Now, I want you to use the same philosophy you used to build the Centre to become investors. Buy a maize mill so that you make money”, President Museveni counseled.

According to Sarah Kagingo, the Special Presidential Assistant on Communications, the president was Saturday officiating at the commissioning of Liberty Worship Centre International in Lugala, Rubaga Division in Kampala.

On arrival at the Centre, the President planted a tree at Liberty Sunday School, commissioned Liberty Medical Out-reach and later opened Liberty Worship Centre International Cathedral.

President Museveni congratulated Pastor Namutebi and the congregation on the big achievement of constructing the 25,000 seater-Cathedral as well as on preaching the word of God. He encouraged born-again Christians to use the same discipline of contributing funds to also open up income generating activities since they have good leaders who are honest.

The President also pointed out that freedom of worship was allowed in the country immediately NRM government came to power in 1986 and observed that indeed religious sects, like the born again churches, are doing a good job like shaping the future of the youth.

“We shall know them by their fruits……..From what you are doing, it seems your fruits are clear. If you are sincere with what you do, you can make a big contribution to your country”, he said.
The President later donated Shs. 20 million to the new Liberty Worship Centre Cathedral and cut a cake on the occassion of its opening.

The hostess, Pastor Imelda Namutebi, flanked by her husband Pastor Tom Kula, hailed President Museveni for honoring their invitation. She also thanked him and the NRM government for creating a conducive environment in the country where freedom of worship is guaranteed.

Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral pointed out that leaders are anointed by God and vowed to pray for President Museveni to continue leading this nation as the country still has challenges that need serious managers to solve.

The colorful function was attended by, among others, the Minister of Tourism, Wild Life and Heritage, Ms. Maria Mutagamba.

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. (Hebrews 6:4-6)
Evangelicals Taught Contemplative Spirituality From An Apostate Who Left The Faith Through It
When Apprising Ministries first came online along the Internet Front of this Truth War nearly ten years ago now I was led of the Lord to begin covering the rise of the Emerging Church, aka the Emergent Church as it related to my documenting The Falling Away of the Evangelical Church community.
The truth is, foolish spiritually spineless evangelical leaders so in lust for the approval of the world would embrace to EC only to find out too late that it was a Trojan Horse. It would turn out to be one from which corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM),  would be unloaded.
CSM is a resurrection of Roman Catholic mysticism masquerading as spurious Spiritual Formation a la Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster and his late spiritual twin Dallas Willard, Sadly, CSM is now about to be added to evangelicalism’s charismatic excesses.
Nothing good will come of it because this spiritually lethal combination truly is a recipe for apostasy and a false sense of Christian unity. You need to remember that the EC had this spurious CSM as a core doctrine, which is a major reason why it has been sinfully ecumenical from its launch by Satan.
One of the main areas under seige is evangelicalism’s position concerning apostate Roman Catholicismfor example, consider this lunacy in the Lord’s Name: Southern Baptists Assist the Roman Catholic Church to Infiltrate Evangelicalism, as if the Reformation was a mistake.
However, as I’ve told you many times, the Protestant Reformation was centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the very heart of the Christian mission; and it’s critical for you to remember here that The Roman Catholic Church Hasn’t Changed Its Condemnation Of  The Gospel.
Against this proper backdrop let me remind you that yesterday I showed you Contemplative/Centering Prayer Today at Catalyst Conference during a lab held  at Catalyst in Dallas, which was entitled Find Out Who You Really Are: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer and led by Phileena Heuertz.1
aa1
Heuertz is a “Founding Partner” of something called the Gravity Center and bills herself as a “Spiritual Director and Contemplative Retreat Guide.2 In other words, she’s a guru of CSM and instructor of its meditation in an altered form of consciousness called Contemplative/Centering Prayer (CCP).
You may also find it interesting to know that the other Founding Partner of the Gravity Center (GC) happens to be Heuertz’ husband Chris,3 while among  founding board members we find apostate Roman Catholic priests, and major CSM gurus, Thomas Keating and Richard Rohr.4
Lord willing, I’ll have more on all of this later, but for now, I just wanted to give you a clearer idea of who it is that was instructing attendees in CCP at this major mainstream evangelical conference. Phileena Heuertz is also author of Pilgrimage of a Soul: Contemplative Spirituality for the Active Life.
By the way, this book is published by InterVarsity Press. Now we won’t find it surprising that Heuertz has partnered with Roman Catholics like Thomas Keating and Richard Rohr, who are Christian Universalists, because you’re about to hear her explain that she “grew up in the evangelical tradition.”
But wait, there’s more; for you see, Heuertz goes on to tell us that “in my adult life I came into the [Roman] Catholic Church.” What you’ll see actually describes her journey through CSM and CCP from a professing Protestant to a full-on apostate Roman Catholic mystic5 in this clip below:

This is who was teaching ostensibly evangelicals yesterday at Catalyst, Dallas. In closing this, for now, here’s Phileena Heuertz’ message Forgiveness through Contemplative Prayer at  the April 10, 2013 Chapel at Biola University:. Best brace yourself for this coming wave of CSM, which may even usher in the One World Religion:

Evangelist Jamey Ragle - Trying to Raise $10,000 So He Can Take the Summer Off and Lose Weight

"They're sitting out there, waiting to give you their money. Are you going to take it? Are you man enough to take it?"Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
------------------------------------

Portly evangelist Jamey Ragle has come up with a new way to get Christians to fork over money to him and his "ministry": he posted on Facebook that his doctor has ordered him to slow down and shed some pounds.

But to "slow down", it means Jamey needs....YOUR MONEY! Read it for yourself here, straight from Jamey's Facebook page

"I am writing to ask you to help me be a part of a wonderful ministry opportunity this summer at Freedom Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have to raise my financial support for this to become a reality. Will you help? Our goal is 10,000. This will enable me to serve during the months of June, July, and August. This will also provide me the opportunity to enjoy some great preaching from pastor Rob White and to follow my doctors orders... Literally! My doctor told me Tuesday that my schedule was too hectic and that I must lose some LBS."

Yes, it is doctor's orders, and Jamey's schedule is too hectic. He has to raise financial support to the tune of $10,000 so he can hang out with pastor Rob White and quit eating so much this summer. And listen to Rob preach really good Bible sermons. Sounds like fun.

Jamey continues his plea:

"Seriously I want to continue to serve my Lord faithfully but I need to get on task with weight loss and exercise. This will allow me 3 months of continuity, accountability, and productivity! During my time here I will be aiding the pastor and staff in all aspects of ministry. I will also be able to be a part of a great church family."
Continuity, accountability, and productivity? Jamey, cut the crap and be honest: You want to quit your job as evangelist for 3 months, and you want your Facebook friends to pay for it. Jamey, do what most normal people who can't put the fork down have to do:  continue to work, and STOP EATING, AND BEGIN EXERCISING. Join Weight Watchers. Use the MyFitnessPal app to track your calories. But a Richard Simmons exercise tape.

I can think of no other profession in the world where a person could abdicate their work, stay home and focus on weight loss because they had hit people up for money in advance. Of course Jamey has to justify this with a hefty dose of "allow me to do the Lord's work" so people will buy it. But truth is Jamey is asking for money to stay home all summer long and basically NOT do what he says God called him to do. It's good to be a "Man of God".

Now Jamey makes the final appeal for money from his friends:

"Would you help make this opportunity become a reality? I need 100 friends to give 100.00 or 200 friends to give 50.00. Any gift would be greatly appreciated. Checks can be made directly to Freedom Church and sent to their address at 3755 Cornell Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45241. If you would prefer to give another way feel free to contact me directly at jameyragle@yahoo.com."

I'm glad Jamey included this closer in his plea for money. This is a great example of how many pastors' thought process works. They live in an alternate universe where money is raised by making people think God wants them; needs them; or requires them to give it to the Man of God or the 501(c)3 religious organization that has hired the Man of God. "Men of God" can use gimmicks, half-baked excuses like Ragle's - so long as there is some sort of loose connection to "the Lord" that the money MIGHT be used for, and if your targets like the MOG, and the MOG is charming and/or funny and/or handsome, there will be gullible people to fork over the money to the Man of God making the plea.

I guess Jamey Ragel IS man enough to take the money from the people who are sitting out there - just waiting for him to take it.

Perhaps Jamey went to this Man of God training session that was secretly recorded by the Watchdog back in 2011.

Robinson, who retired in 2013 as the Bishop of New Hampshire, and his partner of 25 years, Mark Andrew, were married in a private civil union in 2008. The announcement was made public Saturday (May 3) in a statement to the Diocese of New Hampshire.
“As you can imagine, this is a difficult time for us — not a decision entered into lightly or without much counseling,” Robinson wrote in a letter. “We ask for your prayers, that the love and care for each other that has characterized our relationship for a quarter century will continue in the difficult days ahead.”
He explained his views on marriage and divorce further in a column for the Daily Beast.
“It is at least a small comfort to me, as a gay rights and marriage equality advocate, to know that like any marriage, gay and lesbian couples are subject to the same complications and hardships that afflict marriages between heterosexual couples,” Robinson wrote.
Hundreds of parishes left the Episcopal Church in protest of his controversial consecration.
“Whenever you choose to or are called into living a public life, one of the prices you pay for that is public scrutiny, so it’s not surprising that people will pay attention to this,” said Susan Russell, an Episcopal priest at All Saints Church in Pasadena, Calif., and past-president of the LGBT advocacy group Integrity USA.
Robinson, 66, is now a fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C.
“My belief in marriage is undiminished by the reality of divorcing someone I have loved for a very long time, and will continue to love even as we separate,” Robinson wrote in his column. “Love can endure, even if a marriage cannot.”
Due to changes in New Hampshire laws on same-sex marriage, Robinson became legally married to his partner when they didn’t opt out of the change in state law, according to Russell.
In 2012, the Episcopal Church voted to allow bishops to permit priests to bless same-sex marriages. Russell said further discussion about the church’s canon law and prayer book in relation to LBGT concerns will be held at the denomination’s convention next year.

Robinson went public with his sexual identity and divorce from his wife in 1986. He has since been open about the heavy toll he has faced under public scrutiny. Four years ago, he underwent treatment for alcoholism.
Robinson declined to speak further in an interview.
Critics say Robinson’s actions defied scriptural authority and thousands of years of Christian tradition. His divorce could fuel the fire, said Douglas LeBlanc, an Episcopalian who reported on Robinson’s consecration when he was an editor at Christianity Today.
“I’m sure there might be some conservatives who might say, ‘We told you so all along, if you depart from church teachings on homosexuality, you’re opening the door to all kinds of chaos,’” LeBlanc said. “In many ways, I think you are. But I think it’s imperative to say, the House of Bishops is not lacking on heterosexual sin.”
The Episcopal Church’s deliberations on same-sex marriage will likely continue regardless of Robinson’s divorce, LeBlanc said. Some, though, might seize on the news of his divorce.
“People will perhaps rub his nose in this for the rest of his life when he’s debating folks on the sexuality wars,” LeBlanc said. “It probably won’t shock a lot of people and will sadden a lot of people, too.”
Robinson is no longer the only openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church. Bishop Mary D. Glasspool was consecrated in Los Angeles in 2010.
In the past decade, the Episcopal Church followed the decline in other mainline Protestant denominations and lost about 10 percent of its members. It had about 1.8 million members in 2012, the last year for which statistics are available.

A Bishop’s Decision to Divorce

All of us sincerely intend, when we take our wedding vows, to live up to the ideal of ‘til death do us part.’ But not all of us are able to see it through.

Life is hard. And it just keeps on coming, ready or not. Somewhere inside me, I guess I thought that life in “retirement” would be more peaceful, easier somehow. But I am also not naïve enough to believe it for long.

Recently, my partner and husband of 25-plus years and I decided to get divorced. While the details of our situation will remain appropriately private, I am seeking to be as open and honest in the midst of this decision as I have been in other dramatic moments of my life—coming out in 1986, falling in love, and accepting the challenge of becoming Christendom’s first openly gay priest to be elected a Bishop in the historic succession of bishops stretching back to the apostles.

As my marriage to Mark ends, I believe him to be one of the kindest, most generous and loyal human beings on earth. There is no way I could ever repay the debt I owe him for his standing by me through the challenges of the last decade. I will be forever grateful to him, and as I tell couples in pre-marital counseling, “Marriage is forever, and your relationship will endure—whether positively or negatively—even if the marriage formally ends.”

I know this flies in the face of the common practice of regarding one party in a divorce as the bad guy and one the good guy. The fact remains that it takes two people to make a marriage and two people to make a divorce. The reasons for ending a marriage fall on the shoulders of both parties: the missed opportunities for saying and doing the things that might have made a difference, the roads not taken, the disappointments endured but not confronted.

It is at least a small comfort to me, as a gay rights and marriage equality advocate, to know that like any marriage, gay and lesbian couples are subject to the same complications and hardships that afflict marriages between heterosexual couples. All of us sincerely intend, when we take our wedding vows, to live up to the ideal of “til death do us part.” But not all of us are able to see this through until death indeed parts us.
My belief in marriage is undiminished by the reality of divorcing someone I have loved for a very long time, and will continue to love even as we separate. Love can endure, even if a marriage cannot. It will take a lot of work, a lot of grieving, and a large measure of hope to see it through. And that’s where my faith comes in.

My belief in marriage is undiminished by the reality of divorcing someone I have loved for a very long time, and will continue to love even as we separate. Love can endure, even if a marriage cannot.

We have just concluded the dramatic remembrance of the events of Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter. The reason this annual remembrance of “The Passion” resonates so profoundly with me is that it is a reenactment of the grand scenario of life: bad things happen, people suffer, some friends fall away and some stay close, no one knows what comes next after what seems like death, and then God acts in a way that brings new life, new possibility and yes, resurrection.

The thing that astounds me about Jesus, as told in this Passion story, is that he keeps putting one foot in front of the other, praying that it’s in the right direction, but not knowing for sure. In the face of his enemies, he prays that God might forgive them. In the midst of his own pain, he cares for his mother Mary and the “beloved disciple” John, commending them to each other’s care. And then, even though God seems remarkably absent at the time of his death, Jesus nevertheless offers his soul back to God as a gift. To the very end, he would remain an active participant in his own destiny.

That all may seem far away from one couple ending a marriage. But I draw much comfort and guidance from this story and my faith in the One about whom it is told. While I would never remotely compare myself to Jesus, I do know that I too have to move forward without knowing whether the steps I am taking are in the right or wrong direction. I too need to take care of relationships, in the midst of my own pain. (No, it’s not all about me.) And I need to be an active participant in my own destiny.

Most importantly, I need to hold on to the belief that God will have the last word, and that word is hope. If God can bring an Easter out of that awful, long-ago Good Friday, then God can bring new life to me and Mark out of the pain of our parting company. That is my faith, even if the pain of the present moment is too excruciating to envision what it might be. Mark and I will need, and welcome, the prayers of our friends and the support of our community.

My newest, most favorite piece of bumper-sticker wisdom which I will hold onto in this in-between time is this: “In the end, all will be well. If all is not well, it is not yet the end.” Life is hard, and that is true whether you’re in your teens or in your “golden years.” Life keeps on coming at you, ready or not. And sometimes life brings pain and seemingly impossible choices.  So, for me, all is not well right now; but I believe—no, actually I know—in the end, it will be.

The Right Rev. V. Gene Robinson is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, Washington, DC, and the recently-retired IX Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire.

How Satan Is Still Using The Roman Catholic Charismatic Movement To Infiltrate The Christian Churches! (Rivers of Muddy Waters Are Flowing Everywhere)

I would like to talk to you today about the Roman Catholic charismatic movement, and how Satan has used, and still uses, that movement to enter the Christian churches. I want to tell you first of all that I certainly believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and I find it utterly ridiculous for a person to even think that the “gifts of the Spirit” have ceased in our modern day. Remember this next statement that I am about to make here.

The Catholic Charismatic movement or renewal or whatever other tag you may want to use, is still one hundred percent Roman Catholic to it’s very core.
JB Mukanjanga, a catholic charismatic who hides his rosary and disguises like a pentecostal pastor

You need to know that because the modern day compromising “well known” Pastor is not going to tell you that. The compromising “well known” Pastor has already been swallowed up by the times, and with the wonderful “business perks” that come with “going along with the flow” of the muddy waters of the false unity movement. The adulation and praise, which they receive from their fellow compromisers is enough to keep them going from year to year, and they thrive on it all. They are not about to give up their pulpit, or face the guaranteed persecution which would definitely come from their “religious” peers, if they speak out against such things. Many people in their congregations can barely survive from paycheck to paycheck, yet the compromisers have no problem taking their money every week, while they go on their regular vacations, and return to their fancy expensive homes. Their yearly expense accounts rival the yearly salaries of many people in their churches. The compromisers have learned through experience, that most  of the people in their congregation will never  mention, or question, anything regarding Charismatic catholics, (and other cults) for fear of being tossed outside the “church.” In fact they will often frown upon those who speak out against that deceitful movement, and they hope that nobody else will raise their voice against them anymore. That type of thinking has the footprint of Satan on it, and the so called “watchmen” in the Christian churches have been silenced by their so called“anointed” leaders. It is almost as if they have been completely seduced, and have become “watchmen for the Devil” because they are truly protecting the“doctrines of devils”  (1 Timothy 4:1) that the Bible warned us about!

I came across an old article entitled “Deceptive Antics of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal: Father Expedicto of Mountain Sion and Christ the King Prayer Group” (Kizito Michael George Library, June 8, 2009)
….can a leopard change its spots..(Jeremiah 13:23)
Last Sunday on 7th June, 2009 at 2:00 pm I watched a very eloquent lady preacher on WBS TV . She was preaching on the holy spirit . I thought she was a pastor from one of the born again churches. She was really good . I was shocked to learn that she is from the catholic so called Christ the King Prayer group, Kampala. The catholic church is under panic . Many of its former faithfuls like my self have fled the satanic catholic church. In order to prevent further exodus from the catholic church , the church has started the so called charismatic renewal . This system of Satan has preachers who look to be born again. They now hide their rosaries and other catholic deco.. while on TV so that they are not easily recognized. I want to state categorically that these are liars, do not be part of them. You can not be born again and remain in the catholic satanic system. There is a place called Mount Zion prayer center under Fr. Expedito Magembe where so called born again catholics go to pray. They have really mastered what is going on in the Pentecostal churches and imitate it in order to keep catholics deceived. (Kizito Michael George Library, June 8, 2009)

Do you see how crafty the Devil is my friends? This man of God was originally interested in what this so called “anointed” woman was preaching, but when he searched further, he discovered the “footprint of Satan” was behind her “anointing.” Listen to what the man wrote: “This system of Satan has preachers who look to be born again. They now hide their rosaries and other catholic deco . . . while on TV so that they are not easily recognized.”  I praise God that the man preached the truth so clear and straight forward as he did. The man of God did the right thing according to the word of God, and he did not go into a song and dance routine, nor did he go on with the smooth talking, and hemming and hawing, which is heard so frequently in “Christian” churches today.

My wife Cathy and I were delivered out of the deceitful Charismatic Catholic movement just about twenty five years ago. We would attend Catholic Charismatic “healing” masses where the Rosary would be prayed throughout the Catholic Mass. You must understand that the doctrines of the Roman Catholic charismatic movement are entirely Roman Catholic, which includes praying to Mary (Hail Mary prayers), praying to dead saints (necromancy), praying for the dead people in their Catholic Purgatory, and many other things. My precious and merciful Saviour Jesus Christ delivered us from that gross deception, and that is why I speak out against the Catholic system. Can you imagine sending a drug addict back to a drug den to get high again? Can you imagine sending an alcoholic back to the local saloon to get drunk again? Of course not, so then why would you want to allow a church which preaches a false gospel into your pulpits to preach to people who were delivered out from deception themselves?

Catholic Youth are being recruited into the catholic charismatic movement to prevent a possible exodus to born again churches
When Cathy and I came to know the Lord, we tossed all of our Roman Catholic idolatrous things (including our Rosary beads) in a large green garbage bag, and out to the curb they went, (where they belong) because that is what the Lord led us to do! We were delivered from the superstition, and gross deception, of Roman Catholicism, and we are eternally grateful to the Lord for that! It was not a hard thing for us to do, because we simply read the scriptures and we obeyed the Lord! When you read the book of Acts you will find that the people who were into “curious arts” (magic) and witchcraft, repented of their evil deeds and ultimately burned their books, which were worth a lot of money. Those same people had just witnessed a demon possessed man attack a group of men who did not know the Lord. The demon possessed man told those who he attacked that he knew Jesus, and he knew Paul but he did not know them. The people were absolutely petrified when they saw that happen, and it worked for good, because they turned to the Lord and got saved.

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. (Acts 19:13-20)

Can you imagine those same people going to a church, whose Pastor told them that they were having a visiting preacher who teaches about the“curious arts” and witchcraft, for a series of “renewal meetings”? Can you imagine that same Pastor, telling those same folks that the visiting preacher was a “man of God”, who really moves in the spirit? Would that not be insane? Well then, why is it that the modern day Pastors have no problem with the Roman Catholic charismatic movement which brings forth a false gospel? That is called spiritual insanity!

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

I thank God for raising up that man from Africa to warn the people of the deceptive antics of the Roman Catholic renewal. You are not going to hear that type of preaching in the modern day Penetecostal, Inter-Deneominational, and Non-Denominational churches, (especially in America), where the “rivers of muddy waters” are flowing freely, and where the Roman Catholic church enters in without resistance. I want you to know that these modern day compromisers are making light of God’s word, because they are allowing “doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1) inside, and telling the people that it is really no big deal at all. Christian, who are you going to obey men or God? If your Pastor or church leader is going against God’s word, then who do you think is the source of their so called anointing? Is it God or Satan? Even Peter knew enough to obey God rather than mere man!

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)
If you click on the link to the Mount Zion prayer center (in that article) you will notice an image of “Mary” on the left side, which is an ad for “Radio Maria” where you can listen to prayers for“inner healing.” The greeting on the front page reads as follows:
Welcome to The Eucharistic Shrine Mt. Sion Prayer Centre Bukalango
We  are honored to welcome you to this Holy mountain, The Eucharistic Shrine, Mt. Sion Prayer Center Bukalango in Kampala Archdiocese Uganda.  This Prayer Center is dedicated to prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. Our mission is to provide a place of prayer and welcome so that people of God may come to visit and spend time with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in a Roman Catholic traditional setting. We invite you to come to know the shrine, our mission, and us.

Did you catch that folks? The prayer center is dedicated to prayer and “Eucharistic Adoration.” You may wonder what this  Eucharistic Adoration is all about. Well, that is when the Catholic people adore and worship the “Blessed Sacrament” which is simply the little communion wafer placed in the middle of the Roman Catholic monstrance. The Roman Catholics are taught, and they believe, that Jesus Christ himself is present “Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity” inside that little wafer host. In the photo below you can see a Roman Catholic priest, accompanied by altar boys, carrying the monstrance and the “Blessed Sacrament” in a procession through the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina, USA in 2005.

The Blessed Sacrament Being Carried Through Streets
The Blessed Sacrament Being Carried Through Streets
As a former Roman Catholic I can assure you that people actually kneel down and pray before the “Blessed Sacrament” as if they were praying before Jesus Christ himself. The Roman Catholics do not simply believe that the wafer Host represents Jesus Christ (like I do), but they believe that the wafer host IS ACTUALLY the BODY of Jesus Christ himself. Keep in mind here, that the wafer host I am talking about is a wafer thin piece of bread that remains bread UNTIL the Catholic priest (and him alone) consecrates the host during their Catholic Mass! As an altar boy I would watch as hundreds of these wafer hosts were removed from a plastic bag and placed inside a Brass chalice to get ready for the Catholic Mass.

Many of the true Christian reformers who stood against this FALSE teaching, were tortured and murdered by the Roman Catholic church, but you never hear anything about that anymore. The modern day church has been “sold down the river” by their compromising Pastors and ministers, many who were former Roman Catholics themselves.

The Roman Catholic charismatic people STILL BELIEVE in the “Blessed Sacrament” which I spoke about here, and if they say that they don’t, then they would not be considered a true Roman Catholic anymore. In fact if they disagree with the teaching on the “Blessed Sacrament” then they would place themselves under one of Rome’s many anathemas (curses) from the Council of Trent, and upheld by Vatican II. Please keep in mind that the church of Rome still teaches that their CHURCH, and their church ALONE, is the ONLY true Christian church in the world. How many times (if ever) have you heard your “anointed” Pastor warn you about the Roman Catholic church?  Probably none.

The teaching on the Roman Catholic Eucharist is something that the church of Rome will never change, and you will often hear the Pope preach about it. Listen to me folks, I am telling you to run from any type of unity with Rome before it is too late. You can read about what happened to the Swedish Pastor and leader, Ulf Ekman in another article on this website too. I believe in the coming days that there will be a few, (and I do mean few), charismatic leaders that will wake up before it is too late, but I believe that even they, will try to save face, after they admit that they were DECEIVED by Rome. The Roman Catholic church preaches a sacramental salvation which has kept people in bondage for centuries. The modern day“anointed” pastors and ministers are going to answer before Almighty God for their failure to warn the millions who sit inside their churches, and for joining hands with Rome, instead of shouting out a warning!
