In Summary

President says unity and cooperation, irrespective of religious beliefs and tribal inclinations, are essential for development.

Kibaale- President Museveni has asked Ugandans to emulate Owobusobozi Bisaka and rally people towards achieving unity, growth and prosperity.
Speaking at Bisaka’s 85th birthday at Kapyemi Hill in Muhorro Town Council, Kibaale District on Wednesday, the President said unity and cooperation not withstanding religious beliefs and tribal inclinations were the best channels through which Uganda could achieve prosperity.
“Some Ugandans join hands to promote problems instead of fighting poverty and mobilise for development. Some collect money to buy alcohol. This is unacceptable,” he said.
Bisaka’s religion was banned in the 1980s on claims that its practices were dangerous to society.
Bisaka, a self- professed god, is revered by the young and old and has over the years gained millions of followers.
The soft-spoken ecclesiastic is an author, singer and composer, who has various Catholic Church hymns that he wrote in the 1970s.
The former Roman Catholic Church follower, abandoned the faith in the 80s, claiming that he had received divine powers from God, directing him to start healing people.
The President also took the occasion to castigate people who divide Ugandans on the basis of religion.
The religion only worships on the 2nd, 12th and 22nd day of every month. It has 1,239 branches spread across Uganda, Rwanda, Congo, South Sudan Kenya and Tanzania, according to Owobusobozi.

The Owobusobozi requested the President to direct the Inspectorate of schools in Kibaale to include the Book of Faith of Unity on the Uganda curriculum for children to benefit from the good ideologies of the faith
