The Bent Cross Crucifix versus the Traditional Crucifix

Please notice the Crucifix that Pope John Paul II is holding up to the people, at left. Study it closely, and you will realize that it is not a Traditional Crucifix, as we show below. Rather, this Crucifix is known as a "Bent Cross". But, what does that mean? For the answer to that question, let us turn to a Roman Catholic author, Piers Compton, writing in his book, "The Broken Cross: Hidden Hand In the Vatican", Channel Islands, Neville Spearman, 1981.

This Bent Crucifix is "... a sinister symbol, used by Satanists in the sixth century, that had been revived at the time of Vatican Two. This was a bent or broken cross, on which was displayed a repulsive and distorted figure of Christ, which the black magicians and sorcerers of the Middle Ages had made use of to represent the Biblical term 'Mark of the Beast'. Yet, not only Paul VI, but his successors, the two John-Pauls, carried that object and held it up to be revered by crowds, who had not the slightest idea that it stood for anti-Christ." (p. 72) On page 56 Compton prints a picture of the current Pope, John Paul II, holding this bent or broken cross, just as we have shown, at left.
Therefore, Pope John Paul II is telling all the occultists the world over that he is not a Traditional Pope, but a Pope that is committed to carrying out the role of World Religious Leader as called for in the New World Order Plan. Another Roman Catholic author, Malachi Martin, makes this same claim - that Pope John Paul II is committed to the New World Order Plan in his book, "The Keys To This Blood".
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we have printed the Traditional Crucifix, to the right. As you can see, the cross here is not bent in any way, top or bottom. Further, the picture of Jesus Christ is a full figure without any kind of distortion or disfiguration! The Traditional Roman Catholic Crucifix is very, very different from the "Bent Cross", above.
We Protestants have always objected to the Traditional Crucifix, because it holds Jesus Christ up to continual shame, which is forbidden in Hebrews 6:6. Indeed, this is the basis upon which we Protestants object to the entire Mass, but that is the subject of another article.
As you can see, the Crucifix which Pope John Paul II is holding up to adoring crowds is not the Traditional Crucifx, but is the Satanic Bent, or Broken, Cross! This Bent Crucifix was created by Satanists to depict Antichrist and his Mark of the Beast! Very soon, you will see the appearance of a global leader, calling himself The Christ, who will claim to be Jesus Christ returned, the Jewish Messiah, and the Avatar figure for which all the major religions are awaiting, all in one man. This will be Antichrist. Then, very quickly thereafter, a global religious leader will step forward to aid the Antichrist; this religious leader will possess the same miraculous power of Antichrist. At this moment, the prophecy of Revelation 13:11-14 will be fulfilled; this global religious leader will be the Biblical False Prophet.
The New World Order Plan calls for this global religious leader [False Prophet] to be the Roman Catholic Pope, whomever he is at the time; certainly, John Paul II's use of this Satanic Bent Cross is consistent with this part of the Plan.

Since the Middle Ages, Popes have used a ferula, a metal rod topped by a cross, to symbolize their authority.
However, at the inauguration of the Youth Synod, on October 3, the Holy Father presented himself with a new papal ferula: a forking bamboo-like staff. The cross disappeared.
Paying close attention, one notices a carved face at the base of the fork, which would be Our Lord’s. According to some, the fork is supposed to represent the arms of the Savior.

 Sun worship is literally everywhere in ancient religions, from Babylon to Rome. See for example Shamash, Utu. Winged suns, Ra, Horus, Akhenaten, Aten. Helios, Apollo. Sol Invictus, Mithraism, Mithra. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Christianity is no exception. It is strongly linked to pagan sun worship as it mixed much ancient paganism into its own. Solar symbols like for example the sun cross and the radiant crown are found throughout Catholicism.

 

 

 

This singular ferula was given to the Pope at the Youth Meeting in the Circus Maximus on August 11.
This new symbol aptly suits the kind of religion you see in photographs of this meeting: countless boys appear shirtless, and girls without a blouse, wearing only a revealing bra and tight shorts.¹
Back to the new symbol used by Francis, which caused no small commotion in the Catholic world,² this aberrant replacement of the cross with a fork has even more serious aspects.
The staff topped by a fork is related to witchcraft and Wicca, and in the United States, it is called a stang. Significantly, one of the girls who delivered the staff to Francis wore a “red string on the wrist . . . something from Wicca.”³

 The obelisk is a pagan symbol of sun worship stolen from Egypt by Rome.Heliopolis is the latinized form of the Ptolemaic Greek name Helioúpolis, meaning "City of the Sun". Helios, the personified and deified form of the sun, was identified by the Greeks with the native Egyptian gods Ra and Atum, whose principal cult was located in the city.

 

As one occultist author explains, “The Stang is adored by many modern Traditional Witches, myself included. It’s a tool whose use powerfully evokes a sense of connection to something old and primitive. In its simplest form, a forked staff, Witches use the Stang in various ways including representing the Horned One, aiding in spirit flight, and directing energy.”⁴

This is not the first time that Pope Francis sends ambiguous symbolic messages, through acts, gestures, and attitudes, to the point that one could ask whether, given these messages’ ambiguity, Francis is not abandoning his Petrine mission to confirm his brothers in the faith.

Why did the Pope abandon the Cross of Christ, replacing it with an ambiguous forked staff? And what led him to use a staff that could be interpreted as an occultist stang?
Since, as Saint Robert Bellarmine states, “the whole Church always taught in words and examples,”⁵ what did the Pontiff intend to teach through this gesture? That all religions are good, even those that worship “The Horned One”?
Did he intend to consecrate, in a symbolic fashion, the naturalist-ecologist doctrine contained in his encyclical Laudato Si,⁶ in which he affirmed that the Son of God has “united himself to this earth,”⁷ that the Holy Spirit is “present at the very heart of the universe,”⁸ and that the Holy Eucharist is “a  fragment of matter”?⁹

This is not the first time that Pope Francis sends ambiguous symbolic messages, through acts, gestures, and attitudes, to the point that one could ask whether, given these messages’ ambiguity (many examples could be mentioned), Francis is not abandoning his Petrine mission to confirm his brothers in the faith.¹⁰ For the truth—which can be taught by words and by acts, gestures, and attitudes¹¹—must have a clarity that does not allow ambiguities.
That is why the Divine Master ordered His Apostles to be entirely accurate: “Let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil”(Matt. 5:37).
May the Virgin Mother of Jesus Christ, the Mother of the Church, His Mystical Body, obtain from her Son that the passion the Church is going through may end as soon as possible.

After having bumped into the images displaying Pope Francis making the "horns sign" on January 17 while visiting the Philippines, and having found myself both in shock and dismay, I decided to dive into this subject in the attempt to research its origin, especially since the idea of the rock gesture of the devil horns seems to be commonly interpreted as a way to say "I Love You". What is often used as an explanation for this hand symbol is the misplacement of sign language.Originally, in the beautiful sign language there was no inclusion of the "cornuto" gesture; it was simply not part of it.Many ignore, or might want to ignore, the fact that several of these "language signals" (among which we have the horns sign) were developed by the theosophy practitioner, spiritist and medium HELEN KELLER (1880-1968).

Keller's background is rather interesting:she was a devoted student of spiritist and false mystic Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772).As a tribute to him, she wrote the book "Light in my Darkness", which was originally printed under the title "My Religion" in 1927.
In the book she declared that "…the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg have been my light, and a staff in my hand and by his vision splendid I am attended on my way".Emanuel Swedenborg was excommunicated by the same Lutheran Church he was part of.Among his many controversial positions were that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ had already taken place in the past.
To understand the degree of Swedenborg's influence in society, we can see the considerable amount of public figures who, besides Keller, supported him. Among them there are Johnny Appleseed, Honoré de Balzac, Charles Baudelaire, Henry Ward Beecher,William Blake, Elizabeth e Robert Browning, Thomas Carlyle, S. T. Coleridge, Ralph Waldo Emerson, George Inness, Henry James Sr., C.G. Jung, Fitz Hugh Ludlow, Coventry Patmore, Goethe, J.L. Borges, and James Tyler Kent.
In regards to Swedenborg and Theosophy, the Theosophical Society of England stated that"the modern revival of esoterism ranges from the romantic philosophy of the XIXth Century occultism (which involves the so-calledSwedenborgism) to bio-magnetism, spiritism, the ancient traditional wisdom,the ceremonial magic, and the para-masonic orders".

Besides her devotion to Emmanuel Swedenborg, Helen Keller was deeply involved with occultist, spirit medium, and Theosophical Society co-founder Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky who said that "Satan is the only godof this planet". Keller was very much taken by the writings of Alexander Graham Bell who in his book My Religion explained about his occult religion and writes that "the celestial Virgin is the Mother of the gods and the demons; because she is the beneficial and loving divinity…Truly, in ancient times, her name was Lucifer or Luciferius. Lucifer is the divine and the earthly Light, the 'Holy Spirit' and 'Satan' both at the same time."
Therefore, how can we verify that such gesture is therefore falsely representing the meaning of "I love you". It is absurd that such a well-know satanic sign reminiscent of Baal, of Lucifer, of the Goat, can be universally excepted as a sign of love, especially by a Pope. It is also absurd that people are willing to use it outside of the sign language to allegedly greet the crowds, especially because depending on the country and culture, the horns stands for different concepts such as malediction, black spell,superstition, and adultery.
The ridiculous nature of the excuses used to defend the abominable use of Satan's main hand sign displayed by so-called "pope" Francis amounts to indescribable degrees.  Indeed, many will be those who have theorized that in the Philippines the devil's sign means "love" due to Ryzza Mae Dizon, a famous child actress who was told to make that gesture as a sign meaning "sad isn't allowed, always be happy". Indeed, we know that nothing is allowed on national television without the approval and/or the push of the controlling global elite. Again, the sign made famous by this infant-instrument of mass brainwashing supposedly means "being sad is not allowed" (bawal ang sad), but no one has come to justifying the completely unrelated connection between such message and the horns of the devil. What seems most logical is that the masonic/satanic people behind this idea stole the concept from the already mentioned American sign language and gave it a slightly different spin. On top of it, they used a little girl to mask the evil behind the idea just as they can cover a wolf with sheep's clothing.
We do not mean to attack the little girl, for she is not, by any means, a Satanist. Rather, it is those who have decided to use her for the purpose of ingraining such ridiculous concept in people's minds. It would be enough to see the terrorized face of the infant (in the photograph on the left) to realize that these public displays are just as fake as the entire television productions all these people work on.
At this point, I dare to speculate on this scenario as if voicing my inner thoughts out loud: could it be possible that all this girl was used for is the day on which this "pope" would display that gesture in Manila? After all, the girl came into fame only in 2012, only about a year before Jorge Mario Bergoglio was illegitimately elected as "vicar" of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Secret groups work patiently, cunningly, and well in advance. They plan their moves carefully so as to not make any mistakes; every detail is being cared for because these architects use their compasses and squares to reach the perfect degree for every angle.
And since only God can make things perfect, we decided to look for some possible tiny errors they might have missed on by visiting little Ryzza's Twitter page.
What we have found is the usual image of "pope" Francis and Cardinal Tagle blatantly letting the awaken ones know who their true master is. We have inserted the actual screenshot of her page, where you will find a brief exchange between two young people (one of whom inserted a link to Wikipedia explaining what this sign truly represents). We have then added a partial (partial for image size issues) screenshot of that same Wikipedia article. Above that, we have written a short evaluation, which we will retype right next to the following picture:
In this image, our friend Ryzza – or rather the corporation writing this tweet on her behalf – is telling us that “pope” Francis is using the horns to say "sad isn't allowed, always be happy", which is what many supporters of the False
Prophet have used to justify his action.
What is strange is that we all thought the “pontiff” was actually communicating “love” to the present deaf people in the audience.
Therefore, which of the two theories is valid? The devil horns for BE HAPPY? Or the devil horns for I LOVE YOU?
We have the correct answer for you: neither formula is true, for what Bergoglio meant to do is simply what you see: the honoring of the beast through that DEVIL SIGN known for being such since the remoteness of the yesterdays (as you can see in the Wikipedia image on the left).
The other two meanings are only working as 'shields' used by the Illuminati to allow this scandalous symbol to sneakily continue to spread.
It should be enough to just see the discouraging amount of celebrities honoring the goat to understand the acceptance level of this dark sign in today's society. If you believe a crucifix to be any more acceptable a sign than the goat's, then you need to open your eyes and look in the right direction, my friends. As for the cases of this "pope" and little Ryzza, are we still believing the illusions of show business? Are we still willing to permit the controlling media to brainwash us, even though the amount of alternative information available today is constantly increasing? How could we ever allow ourselves to accept this satanic symbol to be practiced by a pope?
Indeed, this hand sign is ancient. Today, neo-pagans utilize it to represent the "horned god" in order to identify each other; therefore, in this specific context, this hand-logo is defined as the sign of the horned god of which counterpart is the fig sign. Some believe that it is meant to bestow the evil eye, while in other cases it is used for the explicit representation of the Devil in Satanism. The gesture's roots are thought to be strictly connected to the image of the goat's head as the hand is reproducing the triangular shape of the devilish animal. We must also underline that the goat's head is not only a Christian symbol, but often it is seen in other religions, one of which is Islam.
Here, below, is our video briefly exposing the shocking issue of a Catholic "pope" making the outrageous sign of Satan. Let us all meditate on one fact: imagine what would have happened if a Pope had made such public gesture up until fifty years ago. We believe that such person would have immediately been taken away from his current position as head of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. 


ORIGINOF THE HORNS

The true origin of the sign, therefore, has an occult meaning in the three versions of El Diablo, the sign of Satan, the horned God (see image on the left). The hand sign in the far right is also the deaf's gesture, or signing,for "I love you," a very confusing factor for people.
Those who use these hand signs to communicate among themselves should prevent themselves from taking part of any discussion in regards to the same, even for the sake of simple respect. Not to mention the continuous and widespread need to justify this dark homage through excuses and reasoning processes of all kinds. It should be enough to see the examples of Heavy Metal, Rock and Pop music, which have had an immense influence on its propagation among the youth; even actors are being caught with their hand in the sugar box. And what is most shocking is seeing politicians do the same. Now even the Pope: the very representative of Love, it being Jesus Christ, displays a non-Catholic symbol of a false love, the one of Lucifer. As we saw, the root of that muted hand symbol is rooted in Theosophy, the cult of Satan, New Age, Free Masonry and New Wicca: all factions which hate God and His Holy Word as they instead wait for the 'new messiah', the New World Order, the New Order of the Age.
It is also interesting to consider that in French "I LOVE YOU" has different initials which make no horns. "Je t'aime" in French, "Te amo" in Spanish, "愛しています" in Japanese, or "Mahal kita" in Filipino will not present an "I", an "L" and an "Y" as initials. The letters "I", "L", and "Y" are only meant for the English language which is not spoken in the Philippines.
Again, like in the case of the young Rizza Mae Dizon, photographed on the left with the same horns which supposedly represent "love", the logic behind this theory does not support the results. This image clearly portrays a girl who not only does not hint to any sort of joy or happiness typical of girls her age, but is displaying a costume that certainly recalls the witches of old.
The two horns are made by two black swans, which are very meaningful hermetic symbols utilized in several rituals as they are known to have been the seal of the occult-obsessed and Satanist Catherine de Medici, a powerful  Italian noblewoman who became Queen of France from 1547 to 1559.
These two figures also appear in the notorious ballet Swan Lake in which the black swan, symbolizing the negative female energy, kills the white swan, symbolizing the positive. The closest paralell we can find is in the story of Hecate killing Diana.
A swan is a derogatory term in Druidism, and it stands for the dark and occult side of fame, for duality, for trauma-based mind control, and the forced creation of an alter persona (among other things).
Curious facts:
William Gibson wrote a play (from which a movie will be made) by the name of The Story of My Life, the 1902 autobiography of Helen Keller.
The Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama, is dedicated to her.
A stamp was issued in 1980 by the United States Postal Service depicting Keller and Sullivan, to mark the centennial of Keller's birth.
There are streets named after Helen Keller in Zürich, Switzerland, in Getafe, Spain, in Lod, Israel, in Lisbon, Portugal and in Caen, France.
On October 7, 2009, a bronze statue of Helen Keller was added to the National Statuary Hall Collection, as a replacement for the State of Alabama's former 1908 statue of the education reformer Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry.
As we have mentioned already, what true Christians believe is that Jesus Christ Is love. Therefore, the very symbol of love is Christ Jesus. And since the apex of Christ's display of love is the act of Self-Sacrifice He Made for the redemption of the world and the salvation of those who will follow Him, the Crucified Christ is what symbolizes love in our faith. Such truth is represented in what has been called 'crucifix' for a very long time. The crucifix is an extremely important Catholic object, for it defines, reminds and displays to us as well as to others what is the essence of our beings. Just like a mark, a 'spiritual' passport or a wedding band, it expresses who our bodies, minds and souls belong to. For this reason – as well as for protection against all evil – we wear the crucifix around our necks. This most precious object is also found in churches everywhere around the world, in the Holy Rosary, in cemeteries, in monasteries and in convents. The man who goes by the title of "pope" Francis has already displayed a behavior of censorship towards the holy cross.

Francis Brings Back “Bent Cross” Crozier

It was bound to happen. Mr. Jorge Bergoglio — whom the world calls “Pope Francis” — has reintroduced the repulsive ‘Bent Cross’ Crozier (sometimes referred to as the “Broken Cross”), after Benedict XVI had, for the most part, abandoned it. The indult blog Rorate Caelihas the story.
The “bent cross” ferula, or staff, which is a hideous rendition of a crucifix, shows our Lord’s legs immodestly spread apart and shows the cross bars bent, rather than straight. The following photos show that this “crucifix” is repulsive indeed, dishonors Christ, and does not inspire pious thoughts:
This sinister-looking cross was designed by Italian Lello Scorzelli (1921-1997) during — you guessed it — the 1960s and was introduced — you guessed it again — by “Pope” Paul VI (Giovanni Battista Montini), who used it for the first time at the closing of his modernist robber synod known as the “Second Vatican Council”, on December 8, 1965. In fact, in 1963 Paul VI had given Scorzelli a permanent job in Rome to design this and other “art” for the Vatican. Here is a picture of Paul VI with the impious cross that is sometimes mockingly referred to as the “twisted lizard”:
The blasphemous Scorzelli cross bears some striking resemblance to the the crucifix drawn by Belgian “artist” Albert Servaes (d. 1966) as part of his “stations of the cross”, which were condemned by the Church in 1921 under Pope Benedict XV (see here). Notice in particular the hanging head and the bent legs:

On September 11, 1670, under Pope Clement X, the Holy Office prohibited the making of crucifixes “in a form so coarse and artless, in an attitude so indecent, with features so distorted by grief that they provoke disgust rather than pious attention” (quoted by Jacques Maritain, Speech to Journées d’Art Religieux, Feb. 23, 1924). The reason for this prohibition has never been more obvious than now, now that the Vatican II Church has spent decades disregarding this decree and has commissioned, promoted, allowed, and tolerated the foulest modernistic displays of religious “art” around the world.
In addition, the indecent Scorzelli crucifix also has something in common with the heretical crucifixes of the Jansenists:
The so-called “Jansenist Crucifix” is defined as a “crucifix in which the arms of our Lord are not extended at right angles with His sacred body, but are contractedly suspended from the cross-beam parallel with the upright portion of the cross. The symbolism of the outstretched arms is that Christ died for all men; that of the Jansenist crucifix, that Christ died only for the elect” (Frederick George Lee, A Glossary of Liturgical and Ecclesiastical Terms, s.v. “Crucifix, Jansenist” [London: Bernard Quaritch, 1877], p. 103). (This is not to be confused with the “for many” vs. “for all” issue in the Canon of the Mass – the Catechism of the Council of Trent clarifies: “…if we look to its value, we must confess that the Redeemer shed His blood for the salvation of all; but if we look to the fruit which mankind have received from it, we shall easily find that it pertains not unto all, but to many of the human race”.)
When Paul VI died in 1978, his successor John Paul I retained the ferula, and John Paul II used it pehaps more frequently than anyone else. Benedict XVI used it as well, though not as often. More images can be found on Pinterest.
It is quite telling that out of all the beautiful and truly Catholic crucifixes and croziers the Vatican II “Popes” could use, they use the disgusting and repulsive Bent Cross, but this is no accident: It is definitely a fitting symbol for the sinister Vatican II Church, which has mocked Christ, humiliated Him, betrayed Him, has trampled Him under foot, loathes Him, teaches heresy, and presents to the world a distorted and twisted faith that is repulsive to true Catholics.

  I agree if you're going to have a cross have a empty cross.I have a question for the Catholics. Why do Catholics have the most exorcisms on the planet?       Because Jesus already died on the cross. He is no longer on the cross. Why do you continue to punishing him? You continue to make him suffer. Why can't you just read the Bible to remind you what Jesus did for us? Instead you make this disgusting crosses and you walk around with them you should be ashamed of yourself. you have to ask yourself why is it people that have crosses with Jesus on it in their homes have the most evil spirits. Why do you have to do so many exorcisms in these homes? All the other Christian religions don't have to do them.         Of course He is no longer on the Cross. If He were, there would be no Resurrection and our Faith would be in vain. However, it is there, on the Cross, that He poured out all His Love for us -- it is our Redemption that was wrought there, and it is the most beautiful thing ever done! To be reminded of this will draw you closer to your loving Redeemer, for it is His declaration of love for you.
        According to your logic, an empty cross makes no sense either, because the cross is no longer there, obviously. Why do you not use an empty tomb at least? There is nothing more profitable for salvation than to meditate often on the Divine Love, the Divine Goodness, which expressed Itself so exhaustively on the Cross. I defy you to read St. Alphonsus Liguori's "The Passion and the Death of Jesus Christ" -- even just a few chapters -- and not be drawn to love and worship Jesus Christ more!

          Did Jesus die on a saggy cross?? did he die with the cross above him with him downwards? Like that cross that you guys built and fell over and killed the designer of it?         It would never occur to you the protestant's are so far gone that satan has no interest in them? Generals don't order their armies to attack civilians, they order them against other armies. Although the original intent of stopping the corruption of the Pope's was a good and noble cause, most Protestant churches are so far removed and so deeply mired in error that they bear no resemblance to the original church, hence Satan has better things to worry about. Also, please post a reference as to your demonic possession/oppression census. I was not aware that anyone had gathered that information into a chart or spreadsheet format that can be used as a spiritual roadmap.         Protestants like to remove Jesus from their crosses because they don't want to be reminded that they actually have to stop committing offenses against Jesus, and have to transform their lives and their consciousness...that they actually have to surrender to The Cross and self-sacrifice. Protestantism teaches that Jesus 'died for their sins' so they don't have to actually change their lives, but can keep offending because Jesus 'paid for every offense' they committed and will commit in the future...that all they have to do is "believe" in Jesus and they are okay. Jesus came to show us the way to save ourselves. He gave us the blueprint to life. We actually have to transform ourselves and not just "believe" in a concept.         All the other so called "christian" religions are not truly Christian. They are false. The only true church is the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The Holy Cross must always be shown and venerated by all true followers of Christ. The Holy Cross is the reason Christ came upon this earth to redeem us by His most precious blood that He shed so willingly and completely and perfectly for our salvation.     Why do Catholics "have" the most exorcisms on the planet? Because the Catholics get it right -- that is, the ritual of exorcism. When others can't cast out the demons, they send the possessed to a Catholic priest. Most possessed people who come to the Church for relief through exorcism aren't Catholic, according to priests who have spoken about the practice in lectures and interviews. Very often, it's someone who was involved in the New Age Movement, practicing the occult. There is one case of a German woman who wrote that she consented to become a Victim Soul because through her sacrifice, God would bring about conversions (which actually has happened -- I'm one of them, and there are many others). God is in control, so NObody becomes possessed without HIS consent. It doesn't matter how bad you are or how good you are, if God doesn't allow it, it doesn't happen...but if He orders a demon to possess someone, it happens. Right now there's a man in Mexico who might or might not have been very holy -- he says he had as much faith and devotion as most people who are faithful and devoted, but he might be modest. He was riding a bus one day when something came into him. He tried to have the demons cast out, but during exorcism rituals, the demons tell the priests that God will not allow them to leave until Mexico ends abortion. Praise God that Mexico's Supreme Court struck down abortion on demand for the nation, but individual Mexican states can still allow it by existing laws. So do you see? Possession isn't always a punishment to the possessed individual, but might be a sacrifice made to atone for the sins of others, even for the whole nation.   I like some of the articles on your site. But frankly I cannot understand why all this energy in attacking and criticizing the Church. Isn't Christ's bride already torn asunder enough from all the other dissensions? We already have the Great Schism, the great error of Revolting Protestants, and priests and lay Catholics picking and choosing what they want to believe, and approving grave sin, etc. Why are you who I assume love Christ and the Church he established attacking her? Are you any different then the others? It seems you should be promoting Prayer, Fasting and Sacrifice. Our Lady called for Penance, not Rebellion. She has always asked us to respect priests even if they were in error. Always. It almost appears like you too are trying to pull people from the Church and the sacraments.     Sarah, please take time to understand what this website is saying. The attacks are against the Vatican II revolutionary church, which cannot be the Catholic Church. Also, it's not true that heretics who pretend to be Catholics can only be opposed by prayer, fasting, and sacrifice. Such people should be denounced, especially when they are leading others astray.       The idea that you misquote me on the prayer, fasting and sacrifice, gives me an idea of your real agenda. I agree that there are problems in Christ's Church. Which there have always been, but the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Your answer makes me think you are more like Luther, since you are not trying to repair, but revolt and divide Christ's body even more.         Things that Pope Francis Can Do to Help Catholics in This New Age

        I’m a Catholic right? So who would be in a better position to criticize Catholics than someone who is actually Catholic? Certainly not witches and sorcerers.

        First we have to get this out of the way because it is hot in the media, and because it’s a mental block. A broken record on infinite loop.  I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it isn’t just the sheer controversy which fuels it, but also the metaphysical force that seeks to muddle the psyches of those with the actual abilities to fix the church. It’s a parasitical force that bogs the church down.

        Predator priests. Pope Francis needs to crack down on them. Cut off those ties and consequences be damned. Forget the political fallout and drain the swamp.

        Because then, you would have room to fix the other things plaguing the Catholic church.

        Alright, now that we’ve appeased the mainstream, let’s talk about Pagan symbols. These things are what I would call bad optics. These things drive spiritual energy away from the church. Energy that is not only valuable, but also very very hard to generate. Energy that is drained from the Church and is redirected to evil. It empowers them and it needs to stop.

        If the pope seeks to strengthen the Church, he needs to cleanse the church of Pagan symbols.

        These are photos of the staff that Pope Francis used on the October Youth Synod. Some say that it was meant to symbolize humility; shedding the lavish accoutrements of the Catholic church.

        But it looks bad.

        It looks like a Pagan staff. That nail sticking through the cross arms is hideous. It encourages witches and sorcerers. It gives them motivation to curse the Catholic church.  I couldn’t believe it was real at first, but it turns out that this staff was actually used in the October Youth Synod. That staff looks bad. It needs to be quarantined.

        And this one. The bent staff. It was sculpted for Pope Paul VI by Lello Scorzelli. Jesus is crucified in a Y shape. It’s hideous, and it reminds people of witch craft. It is different from traditional crucifixes where Jesus’ arms are parallel to the cross arm.  The Y shape is an occult symbol. This staff also needs to be quarantined.

        Lastly, the Resurrection. With this one, I don’t care as much. It’s meant to remind us of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was sculpted with the intent to steer humanity away from mass extinction. A plea for humility.

        And it’s quite effective. This image is brought up all the time. The hideous appearance punches us in the head and reminds us that Nagasaki and Hiroshima were absolute acts of cruelty.

        But on the other hand, this sculpture is also used to criticize the Catholic church. It is really hideous, and it’s bad optics. It reminds people of horror movies. It makes people think evil thoughts. So even though it was made with a positive intent, it still damages the Catholic church.

        But then again, if the sculpture were to have been made to look beautiful, would that not have been a glorification of nuclear bombs? Hmm something to think about. Perhaps it is the diversity of artistic viewpoints that makes the Catholic church such an undecipherable thing for non believers. Perhaps it is this non uniformity that brings Catholics together.

        Perhaps it is a way to market the Catholic church to Pagans. To bring more Pagans in to the fold.

        But then again, crossing that gray line with the sole intent of increasing the church’s size is disobedience to God.

        Perhaps it’s time for uniformity.

        That seems to be the prevailing sentiment on social media today, reacting to images of Pope Francis at the opening Mass of the synod in Rome. Elizabeth Lev snarked on Twitter:
        

        Seriously? This is neither crosier nor cross. They couldn’t find anything else in the Vatican besides a coat rack? I think there might be a couple old ferula in the Museums if they ran out at Santa Marta. Please bring back beauty.

        Before we get to the backstory on this staff, some background via Wikipedia:
        

        The papal ferula (from Latin ferula, “rod”) is the pastoral staff used in the Catholic Church by the pope. It is a rod with a knob on top surmounted by a cross. It differs from a crosier, the staff carried by other bishops of Latin-rite churches, which is curved or bent at the top in the style of an shepherd’s crook.

        Turns out the ferula was not originally used in papal liturgies, but became a fixture during the Middle Ages:
        

        During the High Middle Ages, the popes once again began using a staff known as a ferula as insignia to signify temporal power and governance, which included “the power to mete out punishment and impose penances.” The actual form of the staffs from this period is not well known, but were likely staffs topped with a knob with single-barred cross on top. The staff was not a liturgical item, and its use was limited to a few extraordinary ceremonial occasions, such as the opening of the Holy Door and the consecration of churches, during which the pope “took hold of the staff to knock on the door three times and to trace the Greek and Latin letters on the floor of the church”. Sometimes, the staff also took the form of a triple-barred cross (or papal cross, a symbol of the papacy), but this was rare in contrast to the single-barred cross. Use of the staff was soon again phased out.
        In 1877, the Circolo San Pietro (an organization founded in 1869 to support the papacy) presented a staff or ferula to Pope Pius IX on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his episcopal consecration and is sometimes referred to as the “ferula of Pius IX”. This ferula was used by popes from Pope Pius IX until Pope Paul VI, again only for extraordinary, non-liturgical ceremonies. Pope Leo XIII at times made use of a crosier in the same shape as that of other bishops. In addition, a triple-barred cross ferula was made for Leo XIII for the Golden Jubilee of his Priesthood in 1888. Pope John XXIII had begun using the 1877 ferula of Pius IX for various liturgical celebrations during the Second Vatican Council. It was during the pontificate of Paul VI that the popes more permanently began using a ferula as a pastoral staff for solemn liturgical celebrations, rather than a symbol of governance. In effect, the papal ferula became the equivalent of a bishop’s crosier or pastoral staff.
        The pastoral staff carried by the popes since Pope Paul VI is a contemporary single-barred crucifix, designed by the Italian artist Lello Scorzelli in 1963 and carried and used in the same manner as a bishop uses his crosier.  Paul VI had actually used three other ferulas, similar in style, with the other versions having a cross bar which was straight, or bent upward. Scorzelli’s well known version has the cross bar bent downward, much like the paterissa carried by a bishop within the Eastern Catholic Churches. Paul VI first used this staff on 8 December 1965, at the closing of the Second Vatican Council. The Scorzelli staff was the one retained by his successors starting with Pope John Paul I. This ferula design is often associated with Pope John Paul II.

        The ferula has no fixed design and varies in looks and style. Some are a crucifix, showing the Body of Christ; others are plain crosses. There is no set standard.
        
        
        
        

        As for this particular cross, CNS says it was a gift to Pope Francis from a group of young people, who asked him to use it during the synod. He obviously complied. It appears to have a nail piercing the wood. (Photo below by Paul Haring).
        A few people have mentioned that it looks nothing at all like a cross—or, at least, our traditional idea of what the instrument of crucifixion should look like.
        But throughout history there have been depictions of the cross that show something radically different—such as this crucifix in Reina, Spain, said to date from the 14th century.
        
        Then there’s this version from Africa.
        
        Finally, there is this, known as the The Furka Cross: “[This cross] is referred to as the thieves or robbers cross as it is believed that in Roman controlled Judea criminals were crucified on a forked cross, but such crosses would be costly to build so it is unlikely it was actually used. The three arms of this cross remind us of the Holy Trinity and the attributes of God: omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence.”
        
        Different cultures have different ways of showing and illustrating the cross that brought about our salvation. Perhaps what matters more than what we see when we gaze upon the cross is how we respond when we reflect on what it means to us today — and what the wood of the cross purchased for us, despite our own imperfect, broken, unworthy state.
        UPDATE: Catholic News Agency has even more about this particular farula. From the Spanish language edition:
        

        The Holy Father received this staff as a gift from the 70,000 young Italians with whom he met at the Circus Massimo in Rome on August 11 .

         The young people, from some 200 dioceses in the country, participated in the great pilgrimage organized by the Italian Episcopal Conference with the motto “On a thousand roads, towards Rome”.All walked on the various routes that took them from their cities of origin to the Plaza de San Pedro in the Vatican.
        The delivery of the staff was made a few moments after the event began. A young woman of 30 years, identified as Elena, told the Pontiff that during the pilgrimage “we have experienced that each path needs his cane and on this special occasion we give him a staff sculpted from a log.”
        “In the torn heart of Jesus on the cross is guarded a small seed, that seed that dies to bear fruit and our hope. And it reveals the secret to make life flourish, love,” said the young woman explaining the meaning of the staff. She also told Pope Francis that “it would be beautiful for this staff to accompany him during the Youth Synod. All of us gathered here could feel that we are at their side and connect our heart and our memory to this extraordinary meeting. ”
        “Holy Father, we have come here to tell you that we love you very much and we want to walk forward together,” she added.
